This Indian style pith helmet, a.k.a. the Bombay Bowler, is the most popular pith helmet style in North America. These hats are made from the cork, or pith, of trees from northern Vietnam using techniques developed 100 years ago by the French during their occupation. Genuine leather sweatband and chin strap. The helmet is functional in both sunny and rainy weather. The crown is 7 1/2 inches high, the front and back brim are 2 1/2 inches and both sides measure 2 inches in length. Color: Khaki, as pictured. Size: Adjustable FOR BIG HEADS via a Velcro-like ending on the interior genuine leather sweatband. [MANY THANKS TO OUR GOOD FRIEND SUE ANN WHO FIELD TESTED THIS HAT IN THE ANZA-BORREGO DESERT FOR US. HER REPORT WAS VERY POSITIVE. SHE SAID THAT THE HELMET WAS LIGHT, COMFORTABLE, AND A GREAT SUN SHADE. ALTHOUGH SHE IS MUCH TOO MODEST TO SAY IT HERSELF, SHE ALSO LOOKS GREAT IN THIS HAT!]
