There are those customers who are only looking for excellence in quality of materials, design, and workmanship. Although our goal is to always offer the best headwear values (i.e. highest quality for the price), there are many who want the best quality irrespective of price. This page is for those people (as well as those of us who like to window shop). These hats come from makers who take the utmost pride in their work. Ask them what they have accomplished and they will show you a hat rather than a balance sheet.
On this page, for example, you'll find hats made by Borsalino Hat Company founded in 1857. Borsalino, based in northern Italy, is making hats today in much the manner as per 150 years ago. (Our buyer visited the factory a couple years ago and came back smitten.) You'll also find high quality Panama Hats. Panama Hats are hand-woven from a plant (carloduvica palmata) found on the Pacific coast of South America. Any hat made from this material is rightly called a "Panama Hat", so the buyer must beware that what he/she is buying is in fact worth the price. We've assembled only fine examples of Panamas on this page. (Note that some hats here are Panamas that are styled, blocked, and finished by Borsalino in Italy.)
The list goes on as you will see below. Although it sounds self-serving (and no doubt is), it is nevertheless true: The bigger commitment that is made to buying a hat of real consequence, the more the hat will change you.
