Returns and Exchanges:

An Exchange and Return Form is included in each box shipped. [If you need another, simply click this link and print another EXCHANGE/RETURN FORM.]  If you receive a damaged hat as a result of a crushed box please contact us and we will file a claim with UPS and instruct you on how to proceed with the return. Please do not ship the hat back prior to contacting us. If you did not receive a form PRINT ONE OUT or you may return your merchandise by completing the following:

  • Return or exchange unworn merchandise in its original condition within 20 days of its receipt for a full refund of the cost of the merchandise. If exchanged, we will pay domestic ground shipping for the new hat to be shipped back to you. Sorry, customers outside the U.S.A. are required to pay all shipping charges for any desired exchanges.

    DURING THE CHRISTMAS SEASON, THE RETURN/EXCHANGE DEADLINE IS EXTENDED UNTIL JANUARY 15TH.

  • Shipping charges are not refundable unless the return/exchange is the result of our error.
  • Expect a refund within 7 to 14 days after we have received your return) in the same form of payment that was used for the purchase.
  • If an exchange is indicated we will pay the ground shipping cost back to you, excluding international orders. International exchanges will reshipped at the original shipping costs.
  • Please carefully package your return, ideally in the same carton that we used to ship it to you along with its packing materials. Enclose a copy of the sales receipt. We recommend that you use UPS or Insured Parcel Post from USPS. Ship via ground method, and insure your package. We cannot handle your return any quicker, so do not ship back using express shipping.

  • Be certain that you include instructions inside the parcel regarding your return or exchange.

  • Returned merchandise from large quantity orders will be subject to a re-stocking charge. Wholesale/B2B purchases are final sales and not refundable. Special orders and embroidered apparel are final sales and are not refundable.

Every potential circumstance cannot be accounted for in a policy statement. We value our customers and also expect people to take some degree of responsibility in their transactions. We will be eminently reasonable in resolving problems. If the customer cannot be reasonable with us, we invite him/her to take his/her business elsewhere.

How to Shop

Shopping is made easy at the Village Hat Shop. First select shop for hats or shop by brand, then select the category or brand name of the hats you wish to browse. To request a larger image or more information on the product you can click on the image or the product title.

Shopping Online:

  • To add an item: from a product page, select the options and click [Add To Cart]
  • Review and Edit Selections: You may review and edit your orders directly from the cart with the "Product Options" pull down menus.
  • To resume shopping: Simply click the "Continue Shopping" button to return to the previous page.
  • To change the quantity: Once a product is added to the cart simply update the Quantity field in the cart and click "Recalculate"
  • To remove an item: enter "0" in the item "Quantity." field and click the "Recalculate" button.
  • Select your shipping options: To select your form of shipping click the desired shipping option from the options presented. Type the shipping postal code -where you want the hats to be delivered. If your shipping address is different from your billing address, check the box at the bottom of the shopping cart page labeled (Use a separate shipping address).
  • Select your payment method: Use the "Select Payment Type" pull down menu to select the form of payment you wish to use.
  • Complete the checkout process: Press continue to go to our secure form to enter in your personal information.
  • CVV2 Number: Include your Credit card Verification Value -This is the 3 number value usually located on the back of your card. Click Here for an example.

Ordering by Fax:

You may order by fax 24 hours a day. Fill out the order form on the
shopping cart, selecting the fax option in the payment pull down. Print
your order for your records, and fax the order to 1-619-683-5535 .
Be careful not to click Submit Order.
You may also write your name, email address, phone number, address, and credit card
information on a piece of paper, with the hats that you wish to purchase,
and fax it to us. Be certain to include your credit card number, expiration
date, and signature.

Ordering by Mail:

Customers who wish to order by check or money order may do so by mailing a
print out of our order form from the website. You may also write your name,
phone number, address, items you wish to purchase, (please include shipping)
on a piece of paper and your personal check (ALLOW 12 BUSINESS DAYS FOR A PERSONAL CHECK TO CLEAR BEFORE WE SHIP YOUR ORDER) or money order and mail to:

Domestic Shipping Policy

Every effort is made to ship your hat within 48 hours of receipt Monday thru Friday, pending availability (we generally ship even faster). You'll be notified if merchandise is currently unavailable and when we expect to be able to ship. Please note that items ordered together may not be shipped together. To ship via UPS you must include a complete street address (no PO Boxes).  We have suspended shipments via USPS within the continental USA, due to the recent increase in rates. We do not ship to PO Boxes, except for APO and FPO addresses.  

Expedited Shipping Requests: (Next Day, Second Day, and Three Day Services)
ORDERS RECEIVED BY 5:00 PM PACIFIC STANDARD TIME (8:00 PM IN THE EAST) WILL SHIP THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY. OTHERWISE EXPEDITED ORDERS MAY NOT SHIP UNTIL THE SECOND BUSINESS DAY FROM THE DAY ORDERED. EXPEDITED ORDERS SHIP VIA UPS.  THERE IS NO PICKUP SERVICE ON EITHER SATURDAY OR SUNDAY, HOWEVER UPS DOES OFFER SATURDAY DELIVERY-THAT OPTION IS AVAILABLE AT CHECKOUT.  [Example: A hat is ordered on a Wednesday morning.  The customer chooses two-day shipping service.  The hat ships on Thursday. Two UPS/business days - with no delivery on Saturday and Sunday - means that the hat arrives on Monday.]   All overnighted orders that ship on a given work day, will be received the following work day anytime until the end of the day. If you need morning delivery you will have to call for special arrangements.

Fed Ex does not provide Three-Day Service to Hawaii and Alaska.  Please select Second Day Service in order to expedite shipping to these states.

If a single hat is ordered with an expedited shipping option (Next day, 2nd Day or 3 Day) and we are unable to ship the hat immediately due to availability, the backordered hat will be shipped out with UPS ground service upon it's arrival and you will be charged accordingly.

If multiple hats are ordered with an expedited shipping option (next-day, second-day, or three-day), and we are unable to ship the order complete, the back ordered hats will be shipped free of charge via regular ground when they arrive.

International Shipping Policies

Attention International Customers: We know that the cost to ship hats around the world is high. We are constantly investigating various options and/or negotiating rates. At this point, little more can be done to lower rates (but we will keep trying). We know that the following sounds self-serving, but it is nonetheless true and may help - FOR SHIPMENT OUTSIDE OF THE USA, WE SUGGEST THAT YOU CONSIDER BUYING MORE THAN A SINGLE HAT AS THAT WILL LOWER THE SHIPPING COST PER HAT.

A challenging part of our mission is to realize the promise of the Internet by connecting with our web site visitors from all over the globe. We, as merchants, will be able to communicate with, sell, and ship our hats to customers virtually anywhere. This is where the world, via the Internet, is heading but we are not there yet. One problem is the cost, reliability, and scope of service vis-à-vis shipping. Another is credit card fraud. In an effort to bridge these problems and pioneer this new frontier, we offer the following:

1. This is the shipping and insurance charge that you will be assessed for your purchase. As you can see, the variables are simply your destination and the U.S dollar cost of your purchase. We will ship via The United States Postal Servcie, Global Express Guaranteed. 2. Because most banks outside of the USA will not guarantee the transaction for USA merchants, it is necessary for us to request the following. Along with your order, we ask that you either attach to an email or fax us a picture identification. This can be a passport, driver's license, student identification, etc. We don't want or need a passport or driver's license number - so cover this number - only confirmation that the name, the picture, and the address go together. For some orders we will require a faxed signature approving the use of your credit card.  This includes orders that are shipped to the USA, but purchased via a credit card issued from a bank outside of the USA.  We hope you understand this need for extra precaution as this protects both parties in the transaction. IMPORTANT NOTE: PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT WE DO NOT KNOW THE LAWS IN EVERY COUNTRY REGARDING TAXES AND DUTY FOR EACH AND EVERY KIND OF HAT MATERIAL THAT WE SELL. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CUSTOMER TO PAY SUCH DUTY AND TAXES IF APPLICABLE. YOU MAY WANT TO RESEARCH THIS BEFORE PLACING AN ORDER.

Note For International Customers: Because we have numerous facilities, there may be up to a week delay shipping multiple hat orders internationally. Because of the high cost of shipping internationally, unlike domestic orders, it will be necessary for us to first accumulate all the products in one facility before shipping the goods. If time is of the essence, you may request that we ship hats separately, but the customer will then be responsible for an additional shipping cost.

Special Orders

If you do not see the item, size, or color you have been searching for,
please e-mail or call us. We may have it in stock, or we will try to get it
for you. Special order items and personalized items are not returnable.

Quantity Orders

All large quantity orders that are returned are subject to a 25% restocking fee. Wholesale/B2B purchases are final sales and not refundable. Special orders and embroidered apparel are final sales and are not refundable.

Our Guarantee:

You must be completely satisfied with your order. If not, we will gladly
refund your money or replace any item ordered by Internet, mail or phone
within 20 days of delivery. Personalized items are not returnable.

For the Christmas season, our exchange/return deadline will be extended until January 20. Have a happy holiday season.

After you have "Submitted Your Order", you will be given your "Order Confirmation"'.
Print your order confirmation and save it for your records.

A Copy of your order confirmation will also be emailed to you.
