"This is our barbershop quartet Smooth Sailin' sporting our Village Hat Shop Boaters. We got the boaters at the San Diego - Hillcrest shop to complete our costumes for our roles as the bickering school board turned quartet in "The Music Man", Meredith Willson's hilarious musical homage to turn-of-the-century Iowa citizens and traveling salesmen. The musical was presented by the Westminster Presbyterian Church's Vanguard Productions here in San Diego, CA. The sold-out, 11-performance run has ended, but as barbershoppers we'll get a lot of continued use out of the boaters.
