This is Kangol's, now classic, "Ventair Cap". It is the summer weight version to their wool 504 cap. The sewn bill/visor measures 1 7/8" wide.
Payne Stewart's tragic death in a private-jet accident in October, 1999 called national attention to the great career of this colorful golfer. Stewart won three majors including his second U.S. Open just 4 months before his death. His swing was not the only thing stylish about him. His throwback golfing attire and his Kangol caps were very much a part of who Stewart was on the golf course.
Hip Hop culture literally turned this country club look backwards, putting forward the Kangol kangaroo logo.
