Physician Endorsed Hats is a Colorado based company run by husband and wife Michael Ross and Elissa Margulies. Elissa Margulies loved hiking in the mountains but soon found the combination of high altitude and sun to be a challenge for her fair complexion. To remedy the problem, she began a search for a hat offering maximum protection with a sense of style and ended up empty-handed. After researching the sun protection industry and learning about what fabrics and colors function best, Margulies, along with her husband, founded Physician Endorsed in 2002. She designed a new line of hats to offer consumers, the perfect balance between form and function. [During a dinner in San Diego with Elissa she remarked "Why look like Elmer Fudd when you can look like Audrey Hepburn"]
