Physician Endorsed Hats is a Colorado based company run by husband and wife Michael Ross and Elissa Margulies. Our business bias is the "small is beautiful" philosophy where companies maintain a "human" scale of operations. Elissa Margulies loved hiking in the mountains but soon found the combination of high altitude and sun to be a challenge for her fair complexion. To remedy the problem, she began a search for a hat offering maximum protection with a sense of style and ended up empty-handed. After researching the sun protection industry and learning about what fabrics and colors function best, Margulies, along with her husband, founded Physician Endorsed in 2002. She designed a new line of hats to offer consumers, the perfect balance between form and function. [During a dinner in San Diego with Elissa she remarked "Why look like Elmer Fudd when you can look like Audrey Hepburn"]
