The angora fur is quite surprisingly long and sticks out here and there. Use a a hat brush to comb it down, just before wearing. The satin lining is beautifully fitted to the interior of the hat and shows strict attention to detail. The band is applied perfectly... flawless. The Chocolate fur felt is luxurious with depth.
I ordered a 7 1/4" and found it slightly small. Just tight enough for discomfort. You know the hat is on your head. I took it to Henry the Hatter in Detroit, who said is was slightly undersized and stretched it for me. Much more comfortable. Next time I'll buy a hat jack as well. I'm a long way from San Diego.
The Village Hat Team were easy to deal with, replied to inquiries promptly and sent a e-mail with a link to the shipper's web site, so I could track my shipment. The hat arrived, properly packaged and in good condition.
Borsalino hats are expensive, but if you are a hat afficienado, you have to have one in your collection. You won't be disapointed!
