I have always liked to wear hats . I went to the Monterey Jazz festival this year. I was there for three days, work a button down cap the first day , a baseball cap the second, and wore my Maroon Fez with stem on Sunday. The funniest thing was when I went by the Thelonious Monk belgian style abbey ale booth, there were several people that caught my attention because evidently I had caught theirs. behind them was a huge painting or advertising poster displaying Monk wearing a friars robe, with a glass of ale in his hand and wearing what appeared to be a maroon Fez , it may possibly of been a skull cap, but from the expressions on the booth workers, thay were wondering where I got my hat. Later on, a couple of guys from new York stopped me to ask if thay could take my picture, that said " man, You belong here for sure". After that, an old Turkish man slid on up next to me and asked me where I got my Fez. I wasn't sure what he wanted to hear, because I told him I got it on-line , and he repeated, "On line?" but I think he was thinking I was into some kind of ethnic group. I am slightly allergic to wool, and my eyes tend to water while wearing this Fez, but it was very comfortable. I have bought two more for a couple of football and basketball fans in their team colors, with the tassle instead of stem. Thanks for the hats and service. Best company I have dealt with on-line. |
