the hat came in a huge hat box which surprised me, since the hat is advertised to be crushable and should bounce back to shape, right? this was a hint of what was to come.
i rolled it up and took it with me on my trip, and several times throughout my vacation, pulled it out to put on, and rolled it back up to stow into my beach bag as necessary. i like that the hat is adjustable with the tie, but found that the structure of the hat softened with each use, to where the hat is just floppy now, and doesnt shade my face without hanging in front of my eyes, which gets annoying quick. no matter how many adjustments or rotations of the hat, it hangs in a way that obstructs my view. perhaps the humidity of the mexican carribean made the hat's sturdyness wilt (?) but you get what you pay $25 for. it did the job for this one vacation but i may need to splurge to get the real squishee.
so in conclusion, 1 star off for not being truly crushable but 4 stars for being $25!
