| Moved to Arizona, with my retired parents just put me to work building a fence in the Hot Arizona Summer 2012. I soak the helmet in water inside and put a damp wash cloth (folded on my head) and a wet "boonie" GI style wide brim floppy cotton hat over the wash cloth and the Pith helmet over the hat with sweatband expanded to the widest velcro setting it keeps me cool for up to an hour (I keep drinking water) and taking breaks in the 108 degree daytime heat as needed and this real Pith Wood insulated helmet actually works like a styrofoam cooler to keep my head cool! Theres a reason why Academics, Adventurers, Archeologists and tourists love these helmets because they work to keep ones head cool in extreme heat, a hand kerchief is nessisary for wiping the sweatband. | ||||
