It fits my head comfortably, and mine really is the 7 1/8 listed as the maximum size. I was looking for a nice sun hat that had a bit more attitude than most women's sun hats. So many of them look like they belong at a British wedding reception, or something. The open weave and colorful hatband helps to make what is a somewhat masculine shape look a bit more feminine. The crown is a bit higher than I would like. I've been trying to reshape it a bit with steam and hairspray. This is a true, natural straw hat, though, not one of those synthetic, waterproof ones. It is a bit hard to reshape anything other than the edge of the brim, which has the easily shapable wire inside. it. I like it, and have been wearing it any time I expect the sun to really get me. I do plan to visit a hat shop in person, though, to find a sun hat that looks a bit more feminine without looking totally dorky. This one really needs me to be wearing denim somewhere in my outfit, I think. |
