| Great hat (5/5) | Dec 16, 2008 | Susan Wiens | San Jose CA US | |
| As the previous reviewer noted, the brim is indeed not turned down as much as shown in the picture. But that is easy enough to do yourself. I purchased this hat for Civil War re-enactment wear, and it is perfect. The brim is flexible enough to turn up with a stylish twist, and all I will have to do is add some flowers to the existing black ribbon. I also appreciated the perfectly sized hat box it came in. It's a lovely hat, for actual or re-enactment purposes. | ||||
| Great vacation hat! (5/5) | Aug 17, 2009 | Lindsey | ||
| I loved having this hat on vacation with me! I thought it was very useful that other reviewers noted that the hat is actually slightly different than portrayed in the picture. The brim does not really turn downward, nor is it as large as the picture makes it seem. Also, I have a fairly small head which usually makes it difficult to find hats, but this one fit great! | ||||

| this is a lovely straw hat that fits my small head with very short hair. I believe the brim curve works well and wasn't flat brimmed at all. | ||||
| Lovely summer hat (5/5) | Dec 29, 2007 | C. Edwards | Lafayette CO US | |
| This is a wonderful hat for any woman who wants that bit of shade from the sun (and those who live at high altitude know how punishing the sun can be!) without sacrificing elegance *or* comfort. The light straw is lovely, and permits enough of a breeze that one's head doesn't cook, while the classic style looks good with anything from bermudas and a camp shirt to a linen summer dress. The black band is fairly easy to remove, so if one is moderately crafty, one can change the band to match one's outfit. A great hat, at a great price, and well made. I expect it to last me through several more hot mountain summers. | ||||

| This was the perfect hat for my period costume. I love it....easy to dress up and easy to wear. A great web site to find what you want and at a great price. | ||||

BE AWARE: The brim on this hat does not turn down nearly as much as the picture makes it look like. I was a little disappointed to receive a flat-brimmed hat. Still, it is a great summer hat at an absolutely unbeatable price. |

| This is a fine hat for costumes or historical re-enactments. However, for a regular straw hat to provide sun protection and for everyday wear, this hat was disappointing. People commented that it looked like a doll's or little girl's hat; it indeed looked quite juvenile and ridiculous on a grown woman. The big bow in the back was oversized and unnecessary, as a simple band would've sufficed; the band was also attached well to the hat so I feared it could not be removed without causing damage. Also, the straw was too coarse and not fine as I would've preferred; it made it look cheap. The brim of the hat that I received was turned down, but that may have been due to the packaging of the box. In addition, the one-size-fits-all description is inaccurate, as the hat was too small for my head. | ||||
