I bought this item because I wear the styles of the '30's and '40's. This hat looks very much like the styles worn then. Strangely, I had the same experience here as I had with another small hat from this designer which I have also reviewed. It didn't suit me worn the way it is shown. However, turning it around to wear it backwards - with the flower and feather/veil ornament in the rear - looked excellent! I guess there's no one proper way to wear these things. Again, same as before, the hairband began to give me a headache after a short time, so I removed it (an easy process) and inserted an elastic hat band (comes with metal prongs on each end)into the inner grosgrain sweatband instead. This works fine and looks beautiful with hair up or down. A very feminine, fetching look. |
