I bought this item because I wear the styles of the 1930's and '40's. This is very like the small hats ladies favored then. Oddly, when I tried it on the way it was desgined to be worn, it didn't become me much. So I turned it around and much to my surprise, it complimented my face shape much better worn backwards with the flower in the rear! Another problem I had was that the hairband began to ache after several hours. So, I detached it (easy to do) and installed a hat elastic (elastic band with metal prongs at each end) into the grosgrain sweatband on the inside perimeter of the hat. Now it works fine! Looks very pretty with my shoulder-length hair down or up. In my experience, headbands ALWAYS ache. I wish the manufacturers of fascinators and such would not use them and use combs or elastic bands instead. |

I bought this to waer to my grandmas funeral. I wanted a hat that was cute by would not attract attention, and this was it. Only problem, the headband is way too tight. I've been wearing it around to "break it in", but after a few minutes, it gives me a headache. I might do what the other review said and attach elastic. |
