I bought this Panama Fedora hat as my public sun hat. When I work outside, I have a cheap straw hat to keep the sun off my head, but it's not the type one would wear in polite company. Straw is the best material for a sun hat since it doesn't absorb sweat or heat up like other materials do so I needed one for outdoor events. The price for this hat is about ten times what I usually pay for a straw hat so I was worried especially since there is no manufacturer's name on it. However, I have been very pleased with this hat. The price clearly shows in the workmanship as the weave is fine and tight. No loose straw ends anywhere. "Panama" refers not to the style of the hat but to the special Ecuadorian straw from which it is made. It was quickly obvious the Panama straw is a superior material for a straw hat. The straw is plastic-like in its strength, weight, and non-porous surface (but not plastic-like in a cheap way). It stays very cool and dirt wipes right off with a moist rag. The whiteness isn't paint that could come off but rather is bleached through the whole of the straw. The inside top has a piece of felt glued on as a crush defense. It is very stylish too and identical to the ones worn in the movies. Ingrid Bergman did end up going with Victor Lazlo, didn't she? Now I suspect it was due to this hat. |

I remeber when I was a child in Cuba to see my father using a white guayabera with his white panama hat and several cigars in one of the guayabera upper pockets (year 1957) Know I am 60 years old and want dress like him, this is the reason because I buy my Bleached White Fedora Grade 8 and at the same time it protect me from the tropical sun. The hat is excellent, no loose straw and the weave is fine and tight, the color is the same in all the hat. The hat that I ordered was to loose for my head but I resolve the problem with a strip of foam inside the head band and know it fits perfect. Before order the hat I have doubts about the quality of the same but when I received the hat I said: this is the hat that I was looking for and the price better. | Seriously - this is the best value I've seen yet on a Grade 8. I was just in a hat store in San Fran and saw an almost identical hat for $128. Great hat - great service | ||||

| This is the best looking Panama Hat ever! It gets looks and compliments where ever I go in Dallas. The tight weave of the straw and classic rich bleached white color gives it an expensive look that stands out from the crowd. It also provides excellent sun protection against skin cancer and the aging effects of the sun. I only wish that it came in full and half sizes for a better fit. Otherwise, let's hope that people get rid of their ball caps and start looking stylish again with a hat like this. | ||||

I was in the market to replace a very average "Straw" I had previously purchased. I browsed Village Hat Shop online and saw this - ON SALE! I went to the store in Long Beach and immediately purchased it. I get compliments from owners of more expensive Panamas and they can't believe the quality and the price I paid for it! I love the hat more than some that I have paid twice the money for!! |

I really didn't appreciated the difference between grades of straw hats until I purchased this one from VHS. It's the difference between buying an off the rack suit and a James Bond bespoke Brioni suit. Whenever I wear this hat all I get are compliments. Of course I remove my hat and show them construction and give a little spiel as to why the hat not only looks so good but how long it will last. In my opinion it's as good if not better than a Borsalino and their hats are legend. |

| My grade 8 panama just arrived, on time as always. Great looking and very comfortable hat. I usually wear the Bogart Fedora but the weather is getting too warm so I decided to try the straw. Very pleased with it and very please with Jaxon Hat Co. There arent many companies out there these days I can say that about, but Jaxon Hat delivers more than just a hat.
