| Love this Hat! (5/5) | Jul 28, 2008 | David Hersten | Santa Monica CA US | |

The staff at the Village Hat Shop, took the time to educate me about the cultural history of this Panama Hat. A Montecristi Fino is a work of wearable art. To appreciate the tradition of craftsmanship is a very special and unique experience, which only enhances the pride of ownership. Be prepared to receive a lot of compliments and questions. Enjoy!!! |

My father used to wear the Montecristi Super Fino (also known as "jipi japa" - the "j" is pronounced like the "h" in English). when we lived in the Yucatan Peninsula. My father loved his jipi-japa. That's why I purchased a Montecristi Fino for my father-in-law. Just like my father, he loves his Montecristi. He wears it when he travels, to play golf or just about anywhere. He wears it with a lot of pride. I was very fortunate to have found the Montecristi Fino at the Village Hat Shop. The other option was to travel to Ecuador. Yeah! that's how much my husband and I wanted the hat for my father-in-law. The crew at the shop was very knowledgeable and helpful. I have been back to the shop twice to purchase more hats for the family. |
