I have several vintage fedoras. I usually prefer the late 50's early 60's stuff with mid to stingy brims. This hat is cut almost exactly the same as one of my favorite fur felt vintage hats. I was relieved to find a more hipster hat manufacturer making a good quality straw without some obnoxious logo on it at a really reasonable price. I was looking at stuff that cost twice as much from more "classic" fedora manufacturers, but this hat had the cut and color I was looking for and it was on sale for $40! It is very traditional and understated, not like so many of the cotton pin stripe style junk hats you see kids wearing. I did pull the lining out the very fist day, since I bought my hat to be a summer straw and not just a fashion statement and in the upper 90's in LA my head needs all the circulation it can get! With that, I am very happy with this purchase. Thanks to the girls at the Village Hat shop in Long Beach for ordering this and steaming one of my fur felts for free while I shopped! |

This was the exact hat I needed for a specific look, and I ordered through the site. Delivery was pretty fast, 4 days from order. But the hat was a little small and there was no time to order a new one. I discovered there was a store not far from me in Long Beach. They cheerfully exchanged it for a larger size, and validated my parking too! Great selection in the shop BTW, it really helps to see these in person. This is a nice, kool and klassy hat, for not a lot of money. It will look great in the new Weird Al video! :) |

| It's a sweet hat. The color is neutral just right to go with anything. It's as advertised; nice hat; although I could see someone getting a bad one with too many raveling straw edges like I read on a review before I bought mine. I took a chance and I was satisfied. | ||||

| I'm really glad I purchased this hat. I have a rather large noggin, and the fit is perfect. It arrived in a timely fashion in a box worth keeping. I'm only giving it 4 stars because 5 would be perfect and very little is perfect. The hat band isn't quite snugged up to the hat as evenly as it should be and there are a couple of little gaps in the weave of the straw, but I guess that's only to be expected. I would recommend this hat. I'm entirely pleased. | ||||

I am in the process of returning this hat because I don't like the actual color of it, which is darker than the picture online. Also, I don't like the quality of the weaving of the straw---- too many loose ends hanging out in different places. I am a HUGE fan of Village Hat Shop, both for the general quality of the merchandise plus the great customer service. I also especially like the blog that Fred writes sometimes, on the larger issues surrounding us in the country and world. This is the first item I've chosen to return, so I'll be back often. Thanks. |
