| So I get to be the first to review this hat... I had been looking at this hat for awhile now. It was one of the first straw hats that appealed to me but what I really wanted was a hat just like this one only with a brown ribbon band. Scouring the internet became a fruitless effort. The right hat found but too small sizes, brown band found but wrong color hat or nice color hat and band but way too expensive or they were the short brimmed trilby. I finally went with this one and I'm glad I did. The hat is a great price compared to others. The toyo straw has a thick feeling to it but is still light. The fedora is not a stiff straw but very flexible and could be knocked around and still retain its shape. This would be a good hat one could take on a long trip or air travel and not have a good fur felt fedora along to worry about getting banged up. The hat is better looking in person even with a black band which looks good despite my wanting brown. I wore it on a hot day today and found it comfortable. I did sweat a little on the forehead but the cotton sweat band wicked it up. I wear a size 7 7/8 to 8 hat and the XXL fit prefect. For everyday sun wear this is a great hat and good looking as well. | ||||

| This hat is reasonably priced, comfortable, practical and it looks sharp and stylish. The ivory color is light enough to be summery without being too bright and the dark band sets it off very nicely. The brim is wide enough to offer a good amount of shade while still maintaining the classic fedora look. I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a warm weather hat. | ||||

| Got got mine, too. Wonderful quality, fit and finish. My head size is on the cusp between Large and Extra Large; I got XL and the fit is comfortably loose, but stable--hat doesn't sit on my ears. Large might be comfortably tight, but will stretch with sweat... Nice hatband and lining, straw weave is tight, even, has small color variaitions that keep it from looking like polyester. Virtually identical to article pictured above, except crown isn't quite as high in proportion to the brim as it appears--but it's not objectionable in any way. VHS service is excellent: I ordered on Monday, it's here Thursday AM, well packaged--the feather even had a little protective bag to keep it nice! Will do more business with this compnay. Great value, , product, service--buy with confidence! | ||||

I've been looking for a great summer hat over here in Australia for quite some time, and the issue is either the hat costs $200+ or it's terrible quality. That, and I have a very large head. I therefore decided to take a punt (wager) on this as it is relatively affordable and, to the eye, was exactly what I was after. In the end, I'm so glad I did! Firstly, the shipping/packing is exceptional. The hat arrived in A1 condition all the way from the U.S. to Australia. Secondly, the hat... Words cannot describe how happy I am with the hat. Not only is the fit perfect, something which I never experienced with hats, but the quality of construction on a $30 hat is unbeleivable. Cannot thank Village Hat Shop enough for providing this.
