Only after having it for now over 3 years (see orig. review from 2007) can one begin to assess any hat's "life". Worn daily, my Curtis is living a strong and healthy one, still looking good-as-new and drawing compliments from total strangers (and it isn't just because of the little SF Giants pin on the band). I just can't imagine that any item of apparel could be more appreciated by others than this hat has been. My bet: you get one, you'll soon see and hear what I mean. |

| I don't follow fashion but rather am mindful of my individual style, and so searched for a fedora for its utility and looks. It needed to keep my head warm and dry, and had to look sharp. Based on perceived value, wearing/traveling convenience, and apparent customer service, the Bailey Curtis Packable Fedora Hat was ordered from Village Hat Shop. I am pleased with the purchase. It arrived on time and carefully packed. The hat complements my attire (usually a business suit and wool topcoat) and serves its purpose nicely. It's been two months, worn about a third of the time depending on the weather, and fits well and looks good. Recently I carefully collapsed and rolled it, and placed it in my coat pocket for about an hour. It kept its shape but got spotted with charcoal colored strands - somewhat noticeable against the black wool. A vacuum, hat brush, or lint roller may come in handy. The Bailey side pin droops a bit. I'd like to remove it but am afraid of damaging the band. Still, I consider it a good value, and am confident in my purchase decision. | ||||

I absolutely love this fedora. I have several other hats, and caps and berets (hay, I'm a hat guy) but this beauty is so much my favorite that my wife had to remind me to take it off in a restaurant tonight. It feels like it belongs on my head, and I feel well turned out and dapper with it on. I bought a gray one and I also wish they made one that is a lighter gray, I'd buy that too. this hat is a fine quality for the $$$. |
