Borsalino Crushable (5/5) Oct 16, 2009 Paul Williamson Attleboro Ma
A great hat. I really hesitated before ordering this hat. I didn't want to spend so much for an unlined fedora, but I finally gave in to curiosity.
The Crushable Safari is lightweight and beautifully made. I did need to exchange my usual 7 3/8 for a 7 1/2, but the folks at Village Hat Shop handled the swap well. I'm really enjoying it now.

Great hat (4/5) Jan 15, 2009 G Hendren Richmond Va US
This is a replacement for a German hat I've had 5 or 6 years. It has great fit and workmanship, as expected of a Borsalino. I'm wearing it through it's first winter and it's working great. I'm concerned about the "crushability" and therefore I'm taking care, in spite of the other reviews. Why only 4 stars? I would have preferred a slightly wider brim.
Makes me Happy (5/5) Nov 6, 2008 TQ White II Mound MN US
About two weeks after my shipment, a woman enters my cubicle at work. She points at my new Borsalino sitting on the file cabinet and says, "I walk past here every day. I think this hat is sooo great looking." That was a sweet moment.

Even better was when my girl, cheerfully skeptical about such a substantial expense, walked into the room where I first tried it on and did a delighted double take. I won't quote the praise she offered for the hat and my appearance with it, but I will tell you, it was really good for our relationship.
Another Great Hat (5/5) Jan 23, 2008 Larry Fillingim Pensacola FL US
I believe in "you get what you pay for" and this is no exception, especially with Borsalino. Fantastic hat for travel, folding, etc. and then springing back to shape. Very warm too on cold days.

Absolutelly excellent hat. Top wares. I will recomend it for all. Black hat is very responsive to dust. Better is grey colour.
Great Fedora For The Rain (4/5) Jan 6, 2008 Gabriel Carmel CA US
A true "crusher" can easily be packed and springs right back to life. Brim doesn't really have much stiffness though, so can have a slightly floppy look. Also, crown is just slightly shorter than my other Borsalino's, which may-or may not-make it easier to blow off one's head... As far as being water-resistant-this hat really does keep your head dry in torrential rains (I wore it constantly for three days in and out of some pretty-good downpours). After it dries shows no sign of stains or unusual wear. Very comfortable-with a cloth headband-that does not "shrink" as leather probably would. My hat was blown off my head in some gusty winds (would have happened with any hat without a chin-strap) and unfortunately sat in puddles of water on two or three occasions. Still--no problem-the hat didn't shrink and looks like new. (I think in a wool hat I'd want to go up an eighth or quarter in size to prevent shrinkage (ask the experts at Village Hat Shop to be sure). Overall this hat feels great-and makes for a good walking hat. I'd give it 5 stars if the brim was a little stiffer and the crown a little higher. Maybe a bit pricey for a crusher, but then again, it's a Borsalino, and feels like a million dollars! I love the sage green-it's kind of like an off brown-moss. This will be my new "walking around hat". I love it!
Great for hunting / shooting (5/5) Dec 26, 2007 J Garbolino Truckee CA US
This is a beautiful hat, very light and comfortable. I received it as a gift (I provided the link to this particular hat as a hint) and it works very well in the field, and on the trap range.

Well, after all, it's a Borsalino.
