Why didn't I find this sooner? (5/5) Jun 14, 2008 Alison Fox Central Valley Ca US
I purchased this particular hat for my husband for a Father's Day gift, and I am so happy that I did! My husband is gonna love it! The customer service I receieved was amazing for one thing, my purchase was shipped immediately and the hat itself is amazing. The quality of it is incredible and yes it looks so much like the hat Indiana Jones wears it's like I took it from Indiana's closet! Amazing! I would recommend this hat to anyone, for the price it is more than worth it, I usually have buyer's remorse, but with this hat I don't.
Waterfall resistant and I love it!!! (5/5) Jun 5, 2008 Miles Rice Asheville NC US
I absolutely love this hat! This hat surprised me when it stayed together after I stood under a waterfall, not just once, but twice. I'm an actor and and I'm using the hat as a part of the Indiana Jones outfit to make a spoof of Indiana Jones for my church youth group! This hat looks like the real thing and it really caught peoples eye when I went to the theatre to see the new Indian Jones film because it makes the outfit. It will form exactly the way you want it to with proper hat bashing and it fits great. It's the closest thing to the Akubra which is over $400. Defenitely a dye hard Indiana Jones fan hat or a hat just to keep you shaded from the hot summer sun!!!
The Best Hat... period! (5/5) Oct 12, 2007 JR. Gillespie Prince George Br CA
I purchased this hat over a year ago. It is of top quality and still looks as good as it did out of the box. I wear a hat everywhere and have all my life. Of all the hats I have worn(all styles of cowboy hats and the like), I have recieved the most compliments for this one. I have had regular people to men in suits that cost more than I make in a month, go out of their way to say how much they like my hat.
This is my favorite hat of all I have owned and intend on getting another just to have a spare on hand. Thank you Village Hat Shop for supplying a great hat at a reasonable price!
Sizing Off (4/5) Dec 31, 2007 Anonymous
  I wear a true 7 & 3/4 hat and can wear a 7 & 7/8 size; a 7 & 5/8 is too small for me.

I ordered an XXL in this hat which was supposed to be a 7 & 3/4, but is more like an 8 & 1/8.

I ordered the crushable wool version at the same time and the sizing on it was a perfect 7 & 3/4"

I did a lot of research, this is the better hat for the money than the wool version. If you are looking for a costume, just get the wool. Otherwise, this is a very good hat. It is much more comfortable than my baseball caps. The only thing I'm worried about is if it will fade quickly. Hopefully not. It's a nice every day hat-so you don't have to spend $400 or more on a "real" hat. The way the guy at the hand-made hat shop put it was "this is the hat you wear in the field". The pin was a little bit of a pain to take off though.

I bought this hat for my brother, who never, ever wore a hat.
I gave him the Indiana Jones-Fur Felt for his
birthday. He loves it. Wants me to help design a neat band for it
Perfect! (5/5) Aug 16, 2008 Cory Warren Burnaby BC CA
I have never seen such better service and quality from a company. The followup is great - you know when its coming and its shipped perfectly so no damage could be done. The hat itself is better than I expected. It IS a TRUE Indiana Jones hat. Fits my son perfectly and he loves it! I would highly recommend purchasing from this company.

Canadian shoppers welcome!
Perfect Hat (5/5) Dec 28, 2007 I. Bruno Windsor On CA
I've worn the hat at weddings with many compliments. I also wore this hat at the Mayan ruins at Tulum in Mexico. The hat was crushed by luggage and it returned to it's original, noble shape.
Nice one (3/5) Sep 11, 2008 Luca Papale Caserta CE IT

I bought the crushable wool version and this one. I found the cheaper version was not very good, so I reccomend you to buy the fur felt, if you want a good Indy hat.

As I said for the wool felt review:

This is a good hat
The service is superbe and the shipping faster than light
It's a good replica of Indy's fedora

BUT

While the wool felt version is too elastic and this makes it impossible to reshape the hat, this version is way too stiff, and this makes it difficult to reshape the hat, too. Yes, because the shape needs some modifications. The pinch should be tighter, and the brim is too flat.

A note about the photo: the ribbon appears to be black (as it should be), but it is, in reality, a purplish brown!

I hade some problems with the hat size. I have a 58 cm head, so I needed a Large Size. But, while the wool felt version fit very well, the fur felt one occurs to be a bit too large. Anyway, I solved the problem by inserting some linen stripes inside the sweatband.

Final judgement: if I weren't a purist, I wouldn't have noticed all these details. So, if you are not searching the Grail, BUY THE HAT: IT'S WORTH IT. I may be fussbudgety, but...c'mon, for 100 bucks it is a great deal.
Nice Hat, Although Really Only If You're a Hat Person (4/5) Mar 18, 2008 Steve the Duck Garanje Au US
Personally, I have to say that I really like this hat. It's comfortable, made of good material, and rather snazzy. However, the whole "look at me" design might be reserved for someone who is normally seen wearing hats in the first place, or for someone who is a bit more outgoing than most. Additionally, with the movie coming up, people accusing you of being a poser may be more common than if you just bought a beret or a pageboy cap.

This all aside, I would recommend this hat. The price is worth it, and the hat'll give you good protection from the shade as well as a nice accessory for nights on the town and such.
