| My new fedora arrived safely via UPS, and has replaced a 40-year-old one that was getting to look pretty shabby. Nothing of this type was available in local stores, and I was pleased to find an Internet site with a selection offering exactly what I was looking for. The fit was excellent, but I have yet to wear it in public because the weather so far has not cooperated. I am 89 years old, and looking forward to using it for the rest of my life. | ||||

| This Temple is like all Stetsons - the best hat on the planet for me. I will be ordering more Stetsons to be worn according to weather, events and/or mood and I am confident that Stetson will come through for me again. This is the first Stetson that I have ordered over the Internet and I was impressed with the delivery speed of The Village Hat Shop. | ||||

My new Temple in Caribou garnered so much admiration in my first three wearings, including one in a televised press conference on Veterans issues, that two of my colleagues ordered Temples in the last few days. I trust they will be pleased because - just like my other Stetsons - it is superb in comfort, style, material and workmanship. |

The Stetson Temple Fedora is truly an excellent hat, made with all the fine materials and care and attention to detail that would be expected of such a well-respected manufacturer. Two caveats, however, prevent it from getting a full five stars: (1) The felt of the caribou (grey) model, despite its high quality and warmth, is subject to sun-bleaching and discoloration from being handled. Oils from the skin of the hands build up on the crown from handling and create a pale discoloration that cannot be removed even by professional cleaning. (2) Do exercise care in measuring before ordering, and it might do to call the vendor about sizing before ordering. My previous Stetson fedora of the same model at size 7-1/8 (57) was just a tad loose on my head, but a small strip of filler material under the headband made it perfect. However, when I ordered a replacement hat at the exact same size, it proved itself to be rather too tight and had to be exchanged for the next size up. Considering that I have no less humility than the next person, it's rather unlikely that my head has grown. All in all, it's a classy, classic hat that easily evokes America's "Best Generation," and with only minor flaws to keep it from getting the top rating. |
