| Very Cool Hat (5/5) | Dec 11, 2007 | Tom Graham | Phoenix Ar US | |
| I get so many compliments on both my Panther Hats. From both men and especially women. They like the way it just fits and lays on the head at the right angles. Very rugged looking hat but soft to the touch. I will order more as the years go by. | ||||
| The Best Yet! (5/5) | Dec 21, 2007 | Susan Fineman | Nashua NH US | |
| I've bought my husband similar hats, but this one is the best looking yet! It stands up to New England weather and rough treatment. He has received so many compliments, they're a given when people see him in this hat! | ||||
| Good cover (5/5) | Dec 22, 2007 | Paul G. | Barva He CR | |
| The Panther is one of my favorite hats. It’s one of the two that I use when traveling, and the only one for extensive, long distance travel. I added a carter pin type chin cord, which I find indispensable and regretfully not sold by Village Hat Shop. When not needed I coil the chin cord inside of the crown out of the way. While the brim roll isn’t excessive by American standards I reduced it, giving a little more protection. However, that most likely made the brim more flexible. In a wind (probably in excess of 40 kph) sometimes the brim is either straight up giving no protection, or down restricting my vision. The hat is small enough to not get in the way in congested areas, yet large enough for reasonable protection. It is crushable and bounces back from knocks and bumps, and normally doesn’t need to be readjusted to my head after receiving such, as sometimes more rigid hats need to be, nor do I feel the impact as much. I did roll it tight and secured it with the chin cord once before putting in my vest pocket for a four-hour flight. After which time it tried to take a set. But after a few minutes of work it was back to it’s original modified shape. I no longer do that. The Panther seems to withstand reasonable amounts of rain although I carry a plastic rain cover just in case. I live in the tropics and when it rains it rains, and that is about 8-9 months of the year. During the peak of the rainy season it is mostly oil skin or well greased leather time. I use my hats (I have 23) mostly as utility hats and not play pretty/dress affairs. I find no fault with the Panther, and as I said it’s one of my favorites. It is light, very comfortable, and I like the lines and colour. Village Hat has since deleted the colour that I bought and has added three other colours. I needed to use one of Village Hat’s sweatbands to adjust the size, which is a common problem I have. Be assured that when this Panther goes, and I’m expecting it to last a few more years, another will replace it. | ||||
| Indestructible (5/5) | Dec 28, 2007 | David M. | Los Angeles Ca US | |
| I love my Golden Gate Panther. It's great to have a felt hat that doesn't need to be treated with kid gloves! It keeps me warm in the winter, sunburn-free in the summer, and dry when it rains... and it seems like the more I wear it, the better it looks! | ||||
| Excellent value / excellent hat (5/5) | Dec 29, 2007 | Dan Davidson | Radford Vi US | |

I have two of these hats, one in black and one in brown. They are both very nice hats, attractive, comfortable, and warm. I regularly receive compliments from my co-workers on the look and style of my hats. I also own a nice Stetson and a nice Resitol, but the panthers are my hats of choice. |

| Got this hat for my husband because he needed at least a 4" brim to block the sun. He really likes it and it looks great on him. | ||||

| I bought this hat while on vacation in Alaska. Amazingly durable, have been through rain, snow, ocean spray and intense heat. I live in Arizona, it provides superb protection from the Sun and heat. I get lots of compliments and inquiries, regarding this hat. Best hat I have ever owned. Still looks new! | ||||

This is my second Panther Love it! First one crushed, and it would not come back...asked around and was told that it would cost $50 to $60 to reshape by steam...so I just bought a new one |
