Good looking Hat (3/5) Feb 22, 2008 Errol Cooper
The hat looks beutiful on my head and adds distinction to my attire. The only draw back that I have with the hat is that it's stiffness creates a little discomfort when wearing it. It has broken in a little and so it is not as tight on my head as when I first wore it.

I hope that it will loosen up a little more and then I will be 100% satisfied with the hat.
Nice hat (4/5) Nov 25, 2007 Tebbe Davis Asheville NC US
I got s few really nice comments the first time I wore the hat. I had to squash it a few times to loosen it up so it sat correctly on my head. But it is a classic and the price was GREAT
Very Nice (4/5) Dec 28, 2007 Paul Harkins Vancouver WA US
I have had this hat for three years. I only wear it a few times a year, but it looks really nice when I do. I would wear it more if I had enough appropriate clothing to go with it. My only complaint is that the crown is not as stiff as I would prefer, but most people wearing these today are not expecting head protection (and for the price, I can't really ask for head protection anyway).
Cool Hat! (5/5) Nov 4, 2007 Bruce Johnson Charlotte NC US
The bowler style has become kind of a trademark for me. I have several in various colors. But since I purchased this basic black bowler, it has become my favorite. Nicely made, priced well and I get comments and questions about it. Invariably I gladly tell them it came from The Village Hat Shop. Keep up the great work!
Love it! (5/5) Nov 11, 2007 Brad Laird Rex Ge US
Pulled from the box, I was impressed by the rigidity of the crown. Nice work on the lining, stitching and trim. Stuck it on my head and *drat*, too tight front to back. (I must have a "long oval" head.) I bravely pulled out my wife's handheld clothes steamer and went to work on it. Be careful-- a very small burst of steam (2 or 3 secs.) is all it takes to momentarily soften the felt. A little here and there, followed by stuffing it on my noggin and gentle reshaping, and in minutes it fit like a glove! As I narrowed the shape a bit I brought the brim down a tad in the front and the back and brought the brim up on the sides. I had a few uneven (not smooth curves) here and there around the brim. A few more gentle steam puffs and I worked those out with my fingers. The hat LOOKS a lot better with a bit of shaping and now it feels great! Take it to an expert if you are afraid to do it yourself!
Good Hat (5/5) Nov 19, 2007 Bill Hohlt Walnut Creek CA US
This is my second Jaxon Wool Bowler. I really like the hat. It is hot in the summer but in the cold weather feels great. I do volunteer work on the Nevada Northern Railway and I get many good comments on the hat from the passengers on the train.
A very fine bowler at a very low price. (5/5) Dec 26, 2007 Jeremy E. Dowd Saint Paul Mi US
Very stylish, ran a bit tight but after breaking it in, became very wearable. The lining and ribbon are of very high quality.

An excellent value.
Great Hat (5/5) Dec 27, 2007 Cassandra Bonham Greenville NC US
I purchased this hat for my son this Christmas. It was something he had always wanted and he was so pleased that he did not take it off all day.
Thanks so much.
Great hat for the price (5/5) Dec 28, 2007 Henk Milne Miami Fl
My teenage son has - for some unfathomable reason - always wanted a bowler. He had been browsing ebay to find an authentic one from Locke Hatters in England. New Locke hats cost several hundred dollars. Used, they are cheap, but the ones that come up on ebay are all too small. (Probably made for by tiny pin-headed Englishmen, stunted on post-war rations: too small for our current crop of U.S. monster kids, raised on hormone-saturated meat and milk). I got him this one to try, figuring that you couldn't go wrong at the price. It's a bit wider-brimmed and "squarer crowned" than the iconic English bowler, but a great looking hat and excellent quality. Worn with a bandanna, and his long blond hair, it makes him look like a 19th Century outlaw. He loves it.

Bought this hat for my 13 YR old grandson and he loved it. Is very much like the one I worn in college in the late 60's. Good quality might have to get one for me!
