About me: I have many different hats, I wear one every day. I have had this hat for about a year now.

The hat description says it's for the adventuresome type, and that's sort of true. I got compliments such as "cool Hat". But reality is that this hat has it's own character, you never know what the brim looks like. It has a "wavy" form, it won't ever have a Fedora line. And it will never have the same brim line. The 2 5/8 brim is also a bit big for my head.
Bad news was that the hat size shrank after a some rain got in it.

The good side:
The hat has a certain fun factor, you will stick out. The felt feels great to the touch. I like that. The hat can take some abuse. People have sat on mine ;-) It's crushable, but once you "crushed" it, it will loose some form, it won't snap back completely. The hat is best if you want a hat that has a big brim and can be tossed around, takes abuse and if you don't care if one day it looks like this and the next a bit different. Get a size bigger, because it will shrink.

Overall, this is what I recommend, if you want something adventureous, get the high end India Jones hat. If you want a Fedora, get a real Fedora. And as with any hat, try it on first, before you decide to keep it.

VillageHatShop is great!
Jaxon Iconoclast (5/5) Dec 8, 2009 Jeff Jackson Ellettsville In US
Ordered it, got it reasonably fast.

I like the hat.
Before I found the site I'd been
getting cowboy hats, which are
stiffer and more prone to disfigurement.

This hat is softer and more pliable and
the bill provides just as much protection
from rain, etc. as the cowboy hats.

It is well made. I'm happy.
Powerful Profile (5/5) Dec 28, 2007 Michael Wolf Escondido CA US
The classic styling of the Jaxon Iconoclast is both bold and romantic. There's a durability and strength that makes you understand why adventurers and gumshoes alike have chosen this kind of hat. I was so impressed with the Iconoclast that I bought 2!!!

Great Hat! (5/5) Nov 13, 2007 Hayden Frederick MD US
This is my favourite hat out of my collection. I have worn this hat hiking the Appalachian Trail as well as to formal events and it goes well with anything, anywhere, anytime.
Amazing (5/5) Aug 26, 2008 Chris Luckwald Grand Rapids MI US
Perfect as is, and only requires some minor reshaping if you're aiming for that authentic Indy hat look. Top quality, just as with any other Jaxon hat. Amazing hat, at a great price.
The Best $60 You'll Ever Spend On A Hat (5/5) Jun 11, 2008 Gershom Reese Wetzel Grapevine Te US
The Jaxon Iconoclast is exactly what I was looking for as an avid Indiana Jones fan. Sprayed damp, reshaped, and allowed to air-dry, it's a ringer for the famous Raiders icon. I'm looking forward to having this hat for a long, long time.

On its own merit, the Iconoclast is excellent, being made of quality material for a great look that wears in nicely (it's only been a few weeks now).

Last but not least, the Village Hat Shop has been excellent to do business with.
One month in ... it's great (5/5) Dec 26, 2009 C. Smith Great Bend Ka US
Well, I'm about a month in to my Iconoclast experience and it's just getting better.

I started out reblocking the crown to copy my original 1950 Stetson Whippet, and that went well, though I'm still hoping for about another inch of crown height when you come out with "Iconoclast II."

About the first week of wear, I experienced the
"wavy brim" issue that has been written about, because I wanted a traditional fedora brim — curled in the back and snapped in fromt.

The front was no problem but that back curl — well it isn't happening.

Then I reenforced the original crease to the back of the brim — just dampen the felt and work it with your fingers. It's a great way to develop that manly grip strenth.

That brim took and it hasn't waived since.

The felt just gets better feeling every time I wear it.

This is a great addition to the working-man's hat collection.

More to follow as the Iconoclast adventure continues.

Love My hat (5/5) Dec 29, 2007 Eddie Boston Horse Cave KY US
I have several hats, but the Iconoclast is my favorite by far . I love the style of it. It makes me feel great when I wear it. As far as the Village Hat Shop goes it was what I wanted in an online store , had plenty of info. Placed my order & my hat came no fuss no hassles.
I recommend your site all the time
