Other than the ridiculous international shipping cost which cannot be helped, this has been a great transaction. The hat arrived with a couple of minor defects [creasing in the band and an unfinished stitch], but the customer service provided by Village Hat Shop is second to none. They guided me through the process of straightening out the band, and the unfinished stitch was a quick fix. I was also unsure about the ribbon, as the one side is askew, but the customer service agent explained to me that this is the style with modern men's hats [which I've found is absolutely true after paying attention in Google searches]. I would have to say that I agree with a lot of the other reviewers regarding the actual colour as opposed to the appearance on the website. I ordered it in gray, and it is much darker, with a VERY SLIGHT tinge of green. The colour actually worked better for me, as it matches my trenchcoat. As for the size, I ordered it one size larger than my headsize [a suggestion from a couple of other reviewers], and in my case, it didn't seem to help. In future, I will be ordering in my exact size. This hat is of superb quality. The fur felt is thick [yet surprisingly cool to wear in the sun] and water resistant. The snap-brim stays curved up in the back and on the sides, and stays snapped down in the front. Just what I was looking for. The only thing keeping this from 5 stars for me is the fact that it costs $100, yet arrived with defects [however, minor]. I haven't heard of many other reviewers with this happening to them, so it seems as if it is a rare occurance. |

| I purchased one of these hats in grey. The fur felt is rich, beautiful and thick. The finish with the exterior ribbon band, leather inside band, liner and feather are first rate. This is a great looking, top of the line, classy hat at any price! I was so pleased that I also bought one in black. | ||||

I bought a Detroit last year but I ordered it one size too small. I thought I could stretch it but was unsuccessful. So last week I bought another in the proper size and couldn't be happier. The soft texture and fit are superb. The brim is not as narrow as a stingy brim and has an elegant profile. This is a classy hat. Now I have to find a home for my too small 7 3/8 |

| I bought this hat for my Joliet Jake Blues costume and it is very close to the look of his hat in the film. I looked for the perfect "Jake hat" for a while and when I found this one, I felt it was the best choice. I bought a size 7 1/2 and it felt a tad too tight, so I got it streached which did help. I'm not crazy about the fit of the hat, but I think that has to do with this particular style. A great "Jake hat". | ||||

| Jaxon hats (I have purchased 3) have all the quality of much more expensive hats without the price, I have been especially happy with the qualityof my detroit. I had it on it a heavy rain a couple of months ago and not only did the hat hold up, it looked barnd new a day later. I highly recommend this hat for an economical, stylish, and utilitarian hat that will get compliments. | ||||

| Just received my Jaxon Detroit fedora. Quite pleased with the quality of this hat. The grey I received is darker than what is pictured in the image on the website, but I love the color. I am giving this hat only 4 stars because of the fit. One note for those of you with larger heads - I purchased this in a 7 5/8 (the largest size available when I bought it), and it seems to run a touch small. I am going to purchase the hat stretcher from this site to make it a slightly better fit. | ||||

| The Jaxon Detroit came at a great price and stands up beautifully next to the Stetson Selby I recently purchased for $130. I actually prefer the lining in the Detroit to that in the Stetson. This is an excellent dress hat and a great value. Now that I have one in black, I'm going to order another in gray. | ||||

| I received my hat a few weeks ago and wanted to wear it a few times before I made any comments. It is a great hat. It looks good and it fits comfortably on my head. I do not wear hats that often but I will come back when I decide to purchase another one. | ||||

I have been dancing with the Fred Astaire Studio for 7 years now and we are doing a dance to Judy Garland's "Get Happy." She wears a Fedora while singing and dancing. Altho I am not singing, we have choreographed a Broadway routine - and I am wearing the hat....I removed the red feather and will adorn the hat band with sworovski crystals. YOUR hat is of the utmost quality and I'm proud to wear it. I'm sure I'll be asked where I bought it and will gladly tell everyone who asks - about your wonderul customer service. I'll send you a picture taken at the show if you so wish....it would be just another use for a fedora! |
