Happy with 'The Detroit'. My wife says I look like Ed Norton from the Honeymooners- which I don't think is a compliment- but I like it! The gray color is just slightly toward the brown side. I usually wear a large hat. The 7 1/4 was too big so I returned it and the 7 1/8 is too tight. I'm trying to 'stretch it out'. The hat has quality construction and overall I would say its a very good value. |

| Just received my Jaxon Detroit fedora. Quite pleased with the quality of this hat. The grey I received is darker than what is pictured in the image on the website, but I love the color. I am giving this hat only 4 stars because of the fit. One note for those of you with larger heads - I purchased this in a 7 5/8 (the largest size available when I bought it), and it seems to run a touch small. I am going to purchase the hat stretcher from this site to make it a slightly better fit. | ||||

| I bought this hat for my Joliet Jake Blues costume and it is very close to the look of his hat in the film. I looked for the perfect "Jake hat" for a while and when I found this one, I felt it was the best choice. I bought a size 7 1/2 and it felt a tad too tight, so I got it streached which did help. I'm not crazy about the fit of the hat, but I think that has to do with this particular style. A great "Jake hat". | ||||

Other than the ridiculous international shipping cost which cannot be helped, this has been a great transaction. The hat arrived with a couple of minor defects [creasing in the band and an unfinished stitch], but the customer service provided by Village Hat Shop is second to none. They guided me through the process of straightening out the band, and the unfinished stitch was a quick fix. I was also unsure about the ribbon, as the one side is askew, but the customer service agent explained to me that this is the style with modern men's hats [which I've found is absolutely true after paying attention in Google searches]. I would have to say that I agree with a lot of the other reviewers regarding the actual colour as opposed to the appearance on the website. I ordered it in gray, and it is much darker, with a VERY SLIGHT tinge of green. The colour actually worked better for me, as it matches my trenchcoat. As for the size, I ordered it one size larger than my headsize [a suggestion from a couple of other reviewers], and in my case, it didn't seem to help. In future, I will be ordering in my exact size. This hat is of superb quality. The fur felt is thick [yet surprisingly cool to wear in the sun] and water resistant. The snap-brim stays curved up in the back and on the sides, and stays snapped down in the front. Just what I was looking for. The only thing keeping this from 5 stars for me is the fact that it costs $100, yet arrived with defects [however, minor]. I haven't heard of many other reviewers with this happening to them, so it seems as if it is a rare occurance. |

| My Fedora arrived in a timely manner and in perfect condition. The hat looks and feels great. The black fur felt is easy to clean with a soft fine bristle brush. In short it is a great hat. | ||||

This hat looks and feels like it should cost twice as much as it does. The fur felt is beautiful. I initially ordered the black and like it so much I wasted no time ordering a grey to match! Truly a great value! |

| l bought this hat for my husband who looks good with it and he loves it. l was kinda hoping for the lil feather on the side like in the picture which didnt come with but other than that shipment was great, awesome timing and awesome packaging reasonable price. Village hat shop will be my only place to shop for hats, can't go wrong here..Thank you Village Hat Shop! | ||||

| This is a fine all-around hat. Great looks, durability and feel. Nice materials and when I placed it on my head it felt like a custom made. I would like to see it a bit stiffer tho. | ||||

Feels like a custom made. Great everyday hat that looks good with everything, even my mug! Wish it was a bit stiffer tho. |
