I inadvertently ordered the wrong size hat. I am in the process of exchanging that one for a larger size. I like the style......it looks like the one Neil Young wore at Live Aid (LOL)!! I had an English Western hat (something somewhat similar to this one) in the '70s; but it got messed up by an acquaintance. I am sure I will get much good wear out of the replacement 'Fedora'; as I did out of the English Western. I saw the exact same hat in a store a few days ago; it cost less, but having already paid for this one it would have been a waste of money.

Where to start looking is at Jaxon Hats of course. Chances are you won't need to look at any others before finding exactly what you are looking for. I always check the Jaxon Hats section here at VHS Online because the chances are very good that I'll find the style of hat I'm looking for. When compared to the other brands, I have discovered that Jaxon Hats often go the extra step and actually do have more to offer over the other brands, while the price is always a BARGAIN! And that is so very often the clincher that makes every Jaxon Hat the unmistakably perfect design. But you don't have to take my word for it. All you have to do is read all the comments from buyers that vouch they have received excellent quality, and not some cheap party gimmick that the low price would tend to dictate. Surprise! The Crushable Ford Fedora is an excellent example of what I'm talking about. It is a great choice if you prefer western styling without all the mega-brim width of the typical cowboy hat. Jaxon even goes the extra step in this package using 100% Packable Wool with the convenience of being able to stuff this one away rolled up, and yet it will always pop back into its original shape when preparing to wear it again. This Jaxon Fedora seemed to be exactly the western style I was looking for. So after browsing the catalogs I picked the two examples that best matched the necessary criteria. Upon arrival I found the Jaxon Ford Fedora to be constructed of plush packable felt wool. It fit perfectly and I was very comfortable wearing it. Overall, its quality was found to be satisfactory in every way. The Jaxon was exactly the hat I was expecting. However, the arrival of the other brand hat was a bit of a let-down. I'll not mention the other brand name, but that hat didn't even come close to meeting my expectations. For starters it was made of very stiff wool, with a feel as if it were fake wool made out of cardboard. The fit was too big and the stiffness of the hat material didn't help matters. Worst of all the hatband ribbon had broken into pieces and it was laying in the bottom of the shipping box when I opened it. Now I really don't think that it is the customer's responsibility to have to piece a brand new hat together before it can be worn, and I will be very skeptical about purchasing another product from that company in the future. Be assured this other hat was ordered from a different hat supplier, and certainly not from Village Hat Shop. VHS orders have always arrived in perfect condition. The Jaxon Crushable Ford Fedora is available in either black or brown and has the familiar style and wide ribbon hatband made famous by the Indiana Jones series. It suits me perfectly for wearing while I'm at work, or while doing just about anything for that matter. Thanks so much to the Jaxon Hats designer for another masterpiece, and to The Village Hat Shop Team for sending me yet another excellent hat to wear.

i got this hat because i need a black hat. This has turn out to be my favorate i like the side being a litte shorter then the front. Jaxon makes a great hat . i ve order a straw one can't waite to get it

After reading a previous review, I specifically asked the salesperson on the phone to verify that the hat I was ordering did NOT have the feather (which I definitely did not want). She assured me there was no feather, so I placed the order. The hat (and feather) came a day before my trip with no time for me to send it back. Therefore, I had to rip the feather out of the band - possibly causing some damage. Nice hat (little oversized), but accuracy from the salesperson would have been appreciated.

You can't beat this hat for the money it's style and it's portability it looks great and feels great and pops back into shape after being rolled up in a suit case for 12 hours. I own many fedoras, trilbys, military style field caps, and outback styles, and most cost more but they lack the flexibility of use for this hat. Its crushable, stylish and can be used for work, a night out, or casual events it's a good all around hat. I'm very pleased.

The hat feels great, keeps the sun off, and keeps the head dry. The material breathes, so no vent holes are required. The only qualms are not having a liner, and not being "shapable," but that of course is the cost of the hat retaining its shape and "crushable." For the price, feel, and effectiveness of this hat, you really can't go wrong.

Excellent hat and very durable. Flew to Asia and wore the hat in rain, sleet, hail and snow and threw it in a bag and it came out holding its shape and looking good.

An excellent hat. Very soft, yet holds its shape. Very warm, wish I had it in January! Maybe a little hot on the noggin' in July, but I will wear it anyway...I've been wearing hats/fedoras all my life and this is my second crushable and it is superior to my last one like it. No complaints, and good service from Village.

I've been eyeing all the hats on your website and decided that the Jaxon Crushable Ford Fedora was the one for me. I chose the brown one, the color is perfect for everyday casual wear. Love the website and the video section is very entertaining.
