I like the beret very much , it seems to be made of high quality. So far so good.
Very stiff (2/5) Jan 13, 2012 Jeff Kinney US
I ordered a grey beret for my Dad and it worked fine. I ordered a black beret for myself and it was very stiff. Not at all like the photos. It rode up on my head. I had to resize it myself and rip the lining out to make it work. HELLO!... if your hats run large size them down!
Terrific hat (5/5) Dec 5, 2011 Not A Frog Te
Fit does run large, but Village Hat provided fitters that did the trick. Quality construction. I've received numerous compliments on it which says a lot considering you don't see many men wearing a beret in Texas who aren't active military. Delivery was ahead of schedule. I'll be making another purchase from VHS very soon.
Nice Beret (5/5) Jan 18, 2011 Janus Livingston Coarsegold Ca US
Good price on a nice beret, a bit on large size; however the customer service is wonderful here, I love this store!
Jaxon size (2/5) Sep 12, 2010 Kevin Port Angeles Wa US
I have been wearing a Beret for over 30 years ranging from French Imperial Italian Borsalino. When I ordered the Jaxon I sent along a note with it the exact measurement of my head hoping to get the right size. That unfortunately did not help. When I sent the first beret back because of it being to small.I took a string tied it just like a hat band that would fit my head in the hopes that would help. The good people at Village Hat shop sent me some hat sizers this seems to be working but not as good as a hat that fits right in the first place. VHS people have been wonderful I only wish that Jaxon had more to offer in sizes. I don not think I'll be buying another Jaxon Beret
Nice but big (4/5) Sep 10, 2010 Misty Vallejo CA US
The beret is beautiful and just what my guy wanted, but it runs very, very large. His head tends towards the large side of X-Large, but that size was way to big and I had to exchange it for a Large. That fit perefctly, and now everyone is happy!
Re-Size a Beret (4/5) May 2, 2010 Mr.Charles Anthony Durham Ma US
For Mr. Jonathan Frazier and Others with a Hat Beret -too Large.
If you find your beret too large, cut a small notch in the rear, add a wide drawstring to the hatband, and pull it to size, then tie in the back. This is way all Scots Bonnets, and other headwear, were sized, before the era of machine made hats, and elastic. When you knot the back, sew the bow knot in place, so it will not untie, and trim the ends to your preference.

Doesn't FIt (2/5) Apr 6, 2010 Jonathan Frazier Springfield MO US
The beret is much too big. I thought I was ordering my size - measured my head. I got sick and missed the 30 day time limit for exchanges, so I'm stuck with it. It falls off my head if I take even a single step. I'll look for a company with a different policy. It seems to be well constructed and the wool is nice.
Jaxon Basque Beret (4/5) Apr 6, 2010 Anonymous Harrisburg PA US
I enjoy wearing the beret on any occasion. I receive many favorable comments on the stylish and finished appearance. The inner seam headband provides comfortable support.

I am looking forward to the "beret" relaxing so I can pull the beret in any direction.
Hard to wear (2/5) Mar 26, 2010 Gary G New York NY US
The beret is beautifully made but I find it impossible to wear. It sits on your head like a pancake and feels like it is going to fly off like a frisbee. I tried tugging it down on my head but somehow that doesn't work--maybe because the beret is not deep. Maybe it should come with a staple gun.
