Excellent overall except the velcro that adjust's the head band was not long enough to adjust down to my size. I had the regular size version and when adjusted to fit, it had to be adjusted all the way out and my head hit the shell. The cooling effect when soaked works as stated. I icommonly wear a 7 1/8 long oval. |

| This hat fits my 7 1/2 head size beautifully. This hat is a classic design and it's style makes anyone wearing it look good. If you like attention in a good way, wear this hat. If you expect to wear the Pith, incognito, you just can't , people love it too much! They insist on complimenting your hat choice. This hat is great for anyone who wants to stay cool, look cool, and be an all around nifty individual. I bought this hat to beat the heat at Bonnaroo this summer and it worked out perfectly. It stood up to the test in the 90+ degree sun of the TN countryside. The cork material is light and very sturdy, so the strap isn't really a necessity. I would soak this under the hose in the morning and head out for the day. The hat would stay cool, and talk about being easy to find in a crowd. Want to stick out in a crowd of about 30 thousand people and be easy to find when your friends go buy beer, use the restroom, and be shot down by hot hippy chicks? Wear a pith helmet. This hat is for anyone wanting to be in the sun, explore a jungle, or keep water out of your eyes in the shower. Sure, the chin strap is just for decoration and the headband needed some fiddling and adjustment, but I am more than satisfied with my purchase. Oh yeah - my head is big and this fits perfectly. WARNING - this hat makes a terrible frisbee Thanks Hats.com! I have become a valuable member of society thanks to your wonderful product. I recommend this hat to all my friends and sworn enemies. |

I wore this hat during a family vacation and it was perfect for fishing, boating or lounging in the sun. During our vacation, we also went on a tour of the Wilds, an outdoor exotic animal conservation area in Southern Ohio. Perfect for the occasion! I have been looking for a durable summer hat for some time now and was glad to find an authentic pith! I retrofitted the sweatband with additional velcro for a more secure fit and rubbed some mink oil into the chinstrap for a more authentic leather look. Careful not to get any oil on the hat! |

| Great Hat. The Hat is well made and the leather band inside is adjustable. Also, it is surprisingly light unlike all the plastic knock-offs. There is no wunder why the British and others have used it in the tropics. It is my new lake sitting and drinking beer hat. | ||||

I just got this in the mail and it surpasses my wildest dreams. I rarely find a hat big enough to fit my head let alone a classic like a pith helmet. I'm taking a high school group to Egypt in April can't wait to trek the desert sands with this on my head. It arrived quickly (or at least when they said it would), it looks and feels well-made and it makes you want to go exploring. Brilliant! If I send back a photo of me wearing it in front of a pyramid do I get a discount? |

The hat is nice- buy it. Now for the important part- I recently wore the hat at a competition on the beach in Florida. It was great- the sea breeze blew over the hat and over my head, keeping me very cool on a warm Florida day. The larger size kept my head, face and neck safely shaded. If you are thinking about a traditional pith helmet- pick this one. |

| This hat is the best thing I've ever found for harsh sun and heat. Any breeze will go underneath to keep you cool while the wide brim keeps the sun off. It's far better than a boonie hat or anything made of straw. It may be a fashion risk, but it's the most comfortable hat you can imagine. | ||||

| 5 stars would be perfect; this isn't but it's darn close--one slight imperfection but they said they come with small dents. Still, I am well pleased. Have not used it in super hot conditions but its everything I hoped for. Got here fast, too; and great price; thanks for being there, Village Hat Shop! | ||||
