I have had two of these so far. One landed in a pool of tar when I was helping fix a roof after a hurricane and I just left the other in the UK when I was home on vacation. It has a wide brim which is the best option to allow you to keep the sun off your face and neck even when it is not high in the sky. The mesh helps with the heat but a hat on your head is still a bugbear in high summer heat. I have washed them and they do retain their shape but become a little floppy. As a practical hat they are excellent but there are more expense models that look smarter. As regards size, I have a 23" head and was worried about a tight fit so I got an XL. An L would have done since the XL sits a little too low on my noggin. |

| I love my Aussie because it not only keeps the sun off, breathes, and stays with me in high winds, it also--bless the makers--comes in size small. That means it fits my head. I wear it every time I set foot outside (thanks to a bout with a rare and deadly skin cancer), and I receive compliments on it on a near-daily basis. | ||||

Excellent hat for sunny weather. I live in Turkey and the sun shines most of the time and it gets hot. The hat is perfect for this kind of weather and I have had several compliments on the hat. The other good thing is the hat is crushable for travel and will bounce back into shape when unpacked from a suitcase. The hat is 100% cotton so it can be cleaned eaisly. I take the hat and spray it with spray & wash and put it in the top rack of the dishwasher. Just use air dry on the dishwasher. After it dries it looks as good as new. The other plus with VHS is the great customer service. Great hat. I would recommend it anyone in a sunny hot climate. |

| I bought this hat for my dad as a Christmas gift and I have never received such a positive response for a gift as this hat received. He loves to golf and finds the mesh keeps his head cool even on the hotest days. It protects him from sunburns but allows him to have hours of relaxing fun out on the links!! GREAT HAT!!! | ||||

| I have been living in Florida for 5 years now and am very active outdoors and also work outdoors. I've been in many sports stores and other stores and have purchased probably 10 or more hats, Good hats but, This hat is tits, I bought out the store of extra large hats. My family and friends all wanted one. I gave a friend that I Kayak with from New York A hat and he went home and his wife wanted one, so he tracked down your site and got 2. I just got back from Backpacking and the hat was great and comfortable, Very flexible when it needs to bend. Good Buy!!! | ||||

I had extensive skin cancer on my face and head. This Aussie hat has kept me cool here in Florida and I am well shaded with this hat. I recommend it highly to anyone having similar problems. I am very satisfied. |
