So far, this hat has served the purpose for which I bought it: working outside. The mesh top helps keep my head ventilated, but I am concerned that it will not last over the long term, what with branches and what not slapping into it. The brim is sufficiently wide and sturdy, providing good wind protection. There was an issue with the leather chin cord, which I didn't understand at first. I thought the piece of leather that slides up and down was supposed to cinch in place and keep the hat on snug. Instead, I found out that that piece just helps you re-knot the cord where you need it. That is sort of awkward, but it will do. That's really the manufacturer's design, and VillageHatShop went out of their way to talk to the manufacturer and find out why I was having problems with the cord. |
