| The amusing, useful, but slightly overwhelming literature included w/ this hat illustrates perfectly the pros and cons of the hat itself; to wit: the hat is a superbly-made, comfortable, all-around terrific hat--and it's also complicated and pretty high-maintanence. One can't simply plop this hat on one's head and go; one must first learn how to handle the interestingly slip-knotted chin strap and the inner band that can be used to tighten the fit. As the literature says, the hat is made with typical "Canadian persnicketiness," which makes it both a joy to wear and just a little bit of a pain in the butt. I happen to think the pros far outweight the cons; someone less appreciative of obsessive perfectionism might feel differently. | ||||

My husband isn't a sailor or a sportsman but just loves planting flowers and taking care of our lawn. When his dermatologist said "Wear a hat or else!", we luckily found this one. It's comfortable, rugged but light on his head and shades the back of his neck as well. I like the fact that he looks like a million bucks in it! I've been with him many times when complete strangers stop him on the street to compliment him on it and ask where he got it. We've written down your email address so often we should probably get cards printed! ( and when Tilley says they have this hat in any human size, they aren't kidding.) You cannot go wrong with this hat. It is well worth the money and if I could rate it higher than 5 stars, I would. |

The second Tilley hat I purchased was a T-2 hat. I think these hats are worth their weight in hat dollars. I am waiting for more designs. I wear my Tilley's most of the hats I own. No hat can match their style and efficacy for weather protection. Most stores sell larger sizes quickly. |
