The UPF 50+ makes this is an excellent hat for Hawaii's climate and intense sun. It is lightweight hemp, and the brim is wide enough to give ample sun protection. The overall look makes this hat versatile enough to wear with both casual and dressy clothing. I especially love the fact that this style is available in XLarge (it's extremely difficult to find XL hats these days), and I'm very impressed with the clever pockets sewn into the crown and the wind cord that stays hidden until you need it. Tilley has an exceptional "insurance" policy on their hats, and this goes a long way in ensuring my loyalty to the Tilley brand. It would be lovely if Tilley would consider expanding the color selections for this style. I'd buy one of each! |

| I took this hat with me to the Galapagos in May 2008. I'm not a hat person, but this was a style I felt comfortable wearing. It was excellent protection in the equatorial sun. When we returned, I washed it according to the instructions and it's good as new. This is a good hat for women who want sun protection but don't want to look like they're setting off on safari or to the outback (even though it would be appropriate for either)--a good multi-use hat. | ||||

| I just purchased this Tilley and went on a week sailing adventure in Lake Erie. I wore it every day. It was cool and provided great sun protection. Everyone that saw it asked about it and were surprised that it was a Tilley. I love it! | ||||

I Love Love Love Tilly hats! Got my first one (breathable) in the 80's during my peak Sailing days! It was like my trademark. My original Tilly still gets compliments! I bought it back then at the Annapolis Boat Show, since it had a guarantee. Now I'm treating myself to a New One, as I deal with Chemo hair loss from ugly Cancer! Sure makes me feel good to wear such a practical, comfortable, sexy, quality Hat! My new one is PERFECT ... such Fun to wear, Beautiful, has Sun protection, and always gets comments! Lucky me! |
