This is a big hat, a great hat. It has a 6" brim--you want sun shade?! The crown is not so high, 5 1/4"-making the hat less overwhelming (if you can say such a thing with a 6" brim). The "Gus" crown block is very distinctive. When you need/want to be outside, you'll look forward to it because you will get to wear your 6-inch Gus.
The hat has three vent eyelets and a stampede string (chincord).
