Runabout Packable Fur Felt Fedora Hat

Per the title I was very disappointed with this hat. I usually buy wool felt hats and expected something more with this one. The size ran very large and even with the foam inserts is not acceptable for a $180 hat. As mentioned in the other post it is very light and does not hold its shape. Instead of a smooth brim all the way around it wants to crease and looks cheap.

This review is specifically for a Runabout in Walnut from Village Hat Shop. Nice, light felt, good shape, looks sharp. As received, the front pinches weren't even (one was much deeper), but a delicate push and a bit of steam fixed it. Size is slightly large even compared to the large end of the range claimed (it was a 'small' but fit like a size 7), but could be made to work with a bit of padding. Haven't tried to roll and pack it as yet. Overall, a very pleasant fedora, and good service from Village.

However, a Runabout in Grey from a different vendor ran very large, had a wave defect in the brim, and the outline of the sweatband could be seen through the felt. Couldn't use it, had to return it; happily that shop also takes good care of me. Not sure if there is some difference between the felt used in the two colors, or if you simply have to be vigilant.
