The Akubra Territory Western Hat offers a wide brim with outstanding protection from harsh sun or rain. It's named after the Northern Territory in Australia's Top End with its vast stretches of hot dry desert and its wet tropical jungles.

Made of Imperial Quality pure fur felt, this Western hat features two large eyelets on each side for maximum breathability and a stamped leather hatband with an attractive design.

Nice big hat!

Called and discussed the 'sizing' as recommended. Received the hat and added some adhesive foam strips under the sweat band for a good fit. This was planned. Always better to add a few thin pieces of foam than receive a hat that is too small. Great big brim, perfect for FL. I added chin strap, which I do to all my hats. Thanks!

Nice hat

I was looking for a large size (7 3/4 to 8 which are hard to find) as well as a large brim to keep the sun off my face. I had to go through the return process, due to damage in shipping. This took a while, but after all was said and done I have a nice hat that fits right.

Export quality

The Territory Hat here is slightly different from the same hat sold in Australia. The domestic hat in Australia is unlined while the export hat in the US is lined. This does effect how the hat sits on the head and you might need a cm larger for the export hat. The lining also makes the hat warmer and less of a work hat than the domestic model.

Being fur felt, rather than wool, the material is stiff and not crushable. Also, the brim is very wide, so it will provide excellent sun protection.

The hat came in on time. Wonderful Fathers Day gift. Love the hat but have to get used to the inside band. This is the first hat I have purchased with a hard band on the inside. All of my hats are soft on the inside. I own about 10 hats.

Great sun blocker and stylish

This is a great hat for the outdoors. I usually wear western style hats, which also do a fair job with the sun. The Akubra cannot be beat on the trail or long outdoor treks. It is also great looking and a bit less stiffer than a quality fur western hat. Should last many years and the more wear the better it looks. Enjoy!

This is my second Akubra, so I knew what to expect - great quality. I bought the Territory in Sand, 'cause I wanted a light color for summer. Also wanted the vent holes. The fit is great. The brim is very wide; should provide great shade. Looking forward to hot weather to really test it out. Also like the fact that I can attach a chin strap. In the wind, the wide brim could lead to serious liftoff. You just can't go wrong with an Akubra. They're beautiful and last forever.

Big hat

I was looking for a large brim hat as I have several fedoras, Bucket, baseball, outback/safari ....ETC hats. I was looking at Panamas but all the reviews and recommendations indicated not to wear those in rain. This has a HUGE brim and actually came in a 63 cm size big noggins are hard to buy for. I been wearing it for several weeks now and love it except for getting in and out of the SUV. that may take some time. a little stiffer than the stetson fedoras I own. but not as bad as a ""cowboy hat"".

I just got my Akubra Territory Western Hat (Sand) and this is the Best hat that i have ever owned in my life!! The quality of this hat is Outstanding!! This hat is very lite and you can hardly tell you have it on your head! I hope that the Village Hat Shop will carry more styles from Akubra!! I have had all brands of hats,but this is the BEST and i will never buy another brand of hat,only Akubra!!
