Classic Cotton Ivy Cap

Hard to find a 7 7/8 cap. This was perfect.

My husband loved the tweed cap I got him for Christmas - so much so that he requested a warm-weather cap in a similar style. I saw the Classic Cotton Ivy Cap and bought it, hoping it would be good quality - and it is! He loves it and rarely takes it off when outside. I now have to get him one in another color so he can rotate them. Very well made, and seems to repel dirt/sweat nicely.

My husband liked it. It looked nice on him. The XXL did run a little bit bigger compared to two other brands that I also bought him in a XXL.

I ordered the Classic Cotton Ivy Cap, and I like it a lot. It is exactly as described and shown on the web site. I ordered the same size as another cap I have and it fit perfect, I definitely recommend this cap.

I ordered three of which I like, only they are a little heavy and not as lightweight as I'd prefer. Summers in Phoenix are hot and heavy material hats make you sweat. Also I couldn't tell the difference between black or blue.. well made and nice looking

My dad has been bald since 18... He is 76 now and has ALWAYS worn a hat, only "baseball" style... (Except for standing for the National Anthem of course since he is a Navy Veteran.) I got one of these in black, and I'm very happy with my purchase. I has that really great classic look and seems very well made. I got a small, which I think is more of a 6 7/8 than a 6 3/4, so it has room to adjust if needed. Arrived quickly and I immediately noticed that he cotton breaths infinitely better than my wool caps, and for a black cap in Texas, this is a must. Absolutely great for the price.

Bought two of the Jaxon Classic Cotton Ivy Caps. Ordered on Friday, and they arrived on Monday. The caps are well made and should afford me long lasting coverage.

With family in Paris, I needed something that was packable, well-made and if the sun or weather demanded would blend in. I wear a 7 5/8 and the XL fit perfectly. Most pleased!

After some controversy about the color of the hat, the Customer Service department resolved it in an extraordinarily efficient way, resulting in the confidence I needed to view the hat as "Dark Navy Blue" rather than black. I wear a good bit of grey, so perhaps the matter was not all that urgent, but it was resolved very, very satisfactorily.

My husband and I loved it. I have been looking at different retail stores to replace his current ivy cap. Every store I have checked had s/m or m/l not just a small size. I was extremely happy that I had the pleasure of disposing of his current cap with this new replacement and he mentioned he need some different colors. It's a twill fabric and works well for a casual look. Be aware that the color is a very, very light tan which appears beige when worn under stage lights.

Ordered a Classic Cotton Ivy Cap by Jaxon Hats. When it was delivered I discovered the Medium size (as indicated by measuring my skull per the online instructions) was too small. This was my first Jaxon hat and it won't be my last. It is well made and a great fit for a good price. Have paid more for less quality caps.

Hy husband says he likes the hat but since he shortened his hair (buzz cut) it fit's a little loose but not too bad.

The medium black cotton classic ivy was much larger than the medium beige cotton classic ivy. This would have been good info when ordering, since at my age, my head is unlikely to change size.

This hat is very good quality for the price and the service was prompt and reliable. I ordered another color after I tried the first one.

Perfect warm weather ivy cap in a color I could use for hunting and hiking. Well constructed of good cotton twill, it should last for years.
The only downside I have about it is the snap on the bill. It's a big bulky blob that serves it's purpose poorly. So, with the careful use of pliers I removed it and hand sewed it down like all my other ivy caps are. Perfect, now.

I have a very large head, often needing a 2XL, and this XL, like most Jaxon hats, fits me with a little room to spare. It also gets a lot of compliments on the street. This is an excellent inexpensive option when you want something a little classier than a baseball cap.

Bought this cotton flat cap in black to trade with my wool Kerry cap in the warm summer months ahead. Ordered a size XL (as I take size 7 5/8 in my Tilley) but the cap was too big. All the hats in stores have a max size of X/XL which is just tight enough to give me a headache. Got this hat and I am impressed with its quality. Just a big jump in between this and the max store size. The circumference is perfect but I cannot fill out the hat and it looks pretty weird all bunched up on my head. Just didn't work for me.

My father wears a 6 7/8 hat, so I ordered a small for him. He was so pleased, saying, "It fits perfectly--it won't blow off!" I didn't have the heart to tell him that the hat looked like a doll's hat sitting on his head. The hat, as well as the band, was small. If I were going to suggest an improvement, I'd say that even if a hat band is sized small, the rest of the hat should be proportioned much like a medium.

It is very difficult for me to find my size in hats. Typical stores just don't carry XXL and if they do they are low quality. This is my third hat from VHS and I love just as much as my others.

This Jaxon runs a little larger than others. Perhaps this is because the cotton fabric is not a "stretchy" fabric, like the Bamboo version.

Still a good value for the money.

Beautiful Hat, I was looking for size 7 and was suggested size Medium... unfortunately it is still a little bit big on my husband.

Was reluctant to order a hat w/o trying it on and, wouldn't you know, the 1st one I rec'd was too big. Ordered another (which fits just right) and returned the 1st one. This is exactly the hat I've been looking for... lightweight solid Navy blue cap that I can wear year-round in the south. My head size traditionally falls between med and large so I bought the large and took it to a local tailor to have it tightened up a bit and it fits great. (No fault of the caps - it fit as I expected it to.) Great price and fast delivery. Now I know where to look in the future.

I recently purchased the cotton Ivy cap and received it a few days ago. The hat looks great and fits great as well. However, it has no elastic and does not stay on very well. I shave my head and would not wear this hat on a windy day, because it would fly off.

This "irish" cap was just perfect. I bought it as a gift for my 98 year old father in law. The navy blue color was great and the stitching and finish was fine quality. The fit was perfect. I bought this cap in olive last year and love it. This year I got one in navy and while I like the cap, the color is so dark that it looks black. The only time that I can tell that it is blue is when I hold it up against a black object so unless one plans to carry around a black object to compare it with most folks will think that the cap is black.

I wear a Size 8 hat so I opted to purchase the XXL size. It fit perfectly, but I returned the hat because it wasn't the style I was going for. The ivy cap isn't as solid as the pictures make it appear & it tends to flop on the sides, so it made me feel like I was wearing a beret. But otherwise the quality of the cap was great, the shipping was fast, and so far the exchange/return process has been without headache. I'm going to try out the duckbill style instead & hopefully that works out better, but I just wanted to point out that dealing with Village Hat Shop has been great.

Big enough to fit my big head. I like Jaxon hats.

I bought two of these caps (Olive and Navy). They are great caps at a great price. However, for those wanting a Navy Blue hat, I don't think this one is for you. Mine is not Navy Blue. Mine is not so dark blue it looks black. This cap is, without question, Black. I love both caps. In fact, I may buy a black cap just to see if there's any difference.

I am a 56 year old male with a large hat size. (7 7/8" :O) I have always loved hats but, have had an extremely difficult time finding one that fits properly. I have now ordered three different hats through VILLAGE HAT SHOP!!!!!! They are AMAZING! I have to admit I recieved the first hat with some trepidation. However, when I slipped that baseball cap onto my "fat" head, I was shocked. I had to pull it off and look at it. Something was wrong. I slowly placed it once again on my head and as it slowley embraced my XXXX_L cranium, I actually felt my testosterone levels rise! I was a Real Man! I was a man my father could look at and remark, "nice hat!" (Being a guy who was totally impressed by my Father in a Man's hat.)

I bought a Cotton Ivy Cap because my wool one was a little to warm for Florida summers. I liked the way it looked and it fit well (maybe a tad loose). I got it dirty at the rifle range so I put it in the washing machine on the gentle cycle. I was disappointed the the seams started to come apart in a couple places. Perhaps they are not machine washable.

I ordered the wrong size cap and was able to exchange it without any hassles. The transaction was smooth and prompt. I appreciate that very much.

I have a big head (2XL), and finding hats to fit is nearly impossible. Finding you was a blessing. My new lid (Cotton Ivy Cap) fits perfectly and looks great too! Thanx.

This is the first Jaxon hat I've ordered that fits right. Every other one seems to be up to 2cm too big in the XXL (I take a 7 3/4, aka 62cm). Unfortunately, it's not cut especially well for my head, so I'm going to be giving it away.

Also, a website glitch seems to have made my Navy Blue order turn into a Black order, because I know I ordered a Navy Blue (the whole point of my getting this hat was to get a blue one), but even the order page says I ordered Black.

I finally found a good summer alternative to my similar winter wool in a plain black fabric. Comfortable, sits well and properly proportioned. I love it! A great price for quality and style ! I'd definitely by it again.

Second hat of this type and remain pleased with overall quality. True to form the hats continue to run a size large for me (I normally wear 7.75/XXL - ordered XL and fits well). Live in Florida so, while the lining is nice, I have removed it so that the hat breaths better.

Bottom line: Great hat - consider ordering a size smaller than typical.

I bought it as an everyday work hat. I have ordered many other hats from VHS that have all fit quite well, but this one was a little loose. So I threw it in the wash then dried it and it fits great now. I am happy with the purchase!

My husband loves his new cap. He had bigger brimmed hats but they obstructed his vision when working outside. He is 99% bald so needed something to cover his head from the damaging rays of the sun. This works perfect for that purpose ~ and it looks quite sharp on him as well!

I also ordered a large hat identical to this one. The large fit better but is a tad snug. The XL swallows my head. Wish this hat had had a small adjustable band or draw string in the headband hidden from sight. I'll wear the large, gave the XL to my son. The hat is well made and looks classy and was a fair price. Shipping was fast and free.

Everything about the hat is great. It's a little big. I ordered a Large and I usually wear a 7-3/8 hat and this hat was still a bit too big. I can easily put 1-2 fingers between the hat and my head. Despite that, It's still not bad. It's molded to my head just fine and doesn't look too big.

It fit his big head very Well. It doesn't mess his hair up and its not too tight.

While the hat fit around my head pretty well, the bowl was too deep. It pressed down on my ears, and I found it too uncomfortable to wear. I wound up returning it.

Very high quality hat. Rich looking, well made, nice fabric, nice touch of plastic panel to hold front shape, etc. Everything about the hat reflects quality far in excess of its cost. The one caveat (as others have reflected) is sizing. To put some numbers to it the XXL cap I received was a full 25" in circumference which is materially north of what is reflected in the sizing chart. This does not detract from the overall quality; however, it is an issue that should be addressed as part of the ordering process. By The Way - It might be helpful if Village Hat would publish actual circumferences for the various sizes of the hats for each line. Just a thought.

just received my Jaxon Ivy Cap within (3) days. It's great, looks good, fits good, feels good. Wish they could offer this in a Light to Medium Grey color.

The hat is of excellent quality and just what I wanted. The hat is sized a bit large for my normally XL sized head. Unfortunately, I clipped the tags off the hat before giving it the size test, so I never tried to exchange it.

I have a small head (size 6 7/8), and most "small" hats I've bought are not small enough, even when my size is specified within a store's "small" rating. This hat, however, fits absolutely perfectly! Village Hat Shop's size chart means what it says. There is not as much side overlap (I prefer little to none) as there appears in the picture, so the style suits my taste better than I thought it would. I ordered navy blue, and yeah, I knew that means danged near black, but I would have preferred a shade more closely resembling dark denim. I live in North Texas, where the summers are quite hot. This hat is a little heavier than I hoped for, but the upside to that is that the hat is better quality than I expected. The hat has a nylon (er sumthin') lining. The downside to that is the added heat in the summer; the upside is that the hat will stay more protected from sweat and oil from my scalp. It was shipped via Fed EX, I think...(Maybe UPS or Fed UPS ;) ), but NOT USPS, so it got here in a VERY short time. This hat, the service and the value are worth five stars, but if I could, I would (perhaps unfairly) take a half of a star off because it is a tad too warm for my summertime climate. All in all I'm very satisfied.

It was one of my best buys. The style is great. I purchased 5. One for every day of my working week. The price was in my range. I recommend this cap to all food servers.

This is a great cotton twill cap, however from the description that does not state twill and the reviews that say this is a great summer hat, I believed this to be of a lighter cotton material. Cap runs just slightly on the large end on the size. Most size 7 caps fit me a perfectly, so I ordered the medium, it is about 1/8"" too loose on me. So bear in mind when ordering. The cap is top quality and I will be happy to order more from the Village in the future. Shipping was incredibly fast. I ordered the cap on a Sunday before a Monday holiday and received it the same Thursday.
