Cotton Newsboy Cap

Got it for my uncle's birthday. He loves it.

I have three newsboy caps.....all from Village Hats, and I am thoroughly satisfied with each one. Superb construction.....outstanding look.....and to top it off....EXCELLENT SERVICE. You rock!

The cap fits well and is of good quality. I wish the body of the cap was a little bigger.

I purchased this cap a few years back and am still wearing it. It is one of the best caps I have ever bought. I have it in black, size small. I may need to purchase another when I grow my hair out in size medium. Great fit, look and durable. I wear it all seasons. My wife loves it on me.

For the price I decided to buy 3 of them in different colors. Better than I expected. They are great for the summer, very light and breathable.

The material, construction and fit are of the same excellent quality as one I ordered 4 years ago. I ordered the second one to have a different color. The first one doesn't need replacing.

I love this hat and have been wearing it everywhere the past several weeks. I found the sizing to be spot on and it is comfortable and stylish.

I purchased this hat based on the description and the price. it was not what I expected. From the description I expected a cap of a larger size like sort of the size in the show Mary Poppins.

I ordered both colors of this hat. They can be used year round. The sizes run a little larger than most department store hats & I like that very much. X-large seems to be a true sizing. The pricing is great & shipping is free. Great caps & great company. Why do I feel like I am on "Peaky Blinders"?

Love these caps! It came with a couple of wrinkles but they were easy to stream out over my tea kettle. Wish I had bought two (and gotten a little discount). I'll just have to go back soon and order another one.

I've worn A Jaxon Newsboy for 11 years. Yeah, the same one. Throw it in the washer and it comes out like new. It's not my intention, but I've never owned an article of clothing that earned as many compliments. Can't say more than... it's my hat.

Good fit, I will not shave the side of my head like Tommy and all the PB guys, I look forward to sitting in front of my MacBook Air and watching Seasons 4 and 5 on Netflix when Peaky Blinders returns, great hat just as represented.

CAP, "FIDDLER" MODEL, COTTON TWILL, by BRIXTON is overall a fine cap which I've reviewed to great extent in its wool model. But this model is important to me.

Being a superior form of Greek Fisherman cap, I had wanted a cotton Brixton Fiddler for a good while--ever since losing my old black cotton Aegean Fisherman. This twill cap is something special. It has all the Brixton quality including a fine cotton lining, comfy sweatband, generous visor and just a tad snug in its otherwise true to size fit.

What this hat is made of is a gosh darned marvel: this is Herringbone cotton twill. I'd seen that commonly in soft white cotton, but this is twill, solid black, actually Herringbone-woven. The twill, running in opposite diases, creates the eerily shimmering yet muted Herringbone--assisted by one set of threads being a tad lighter than the other. That is unique, and I've never seen a cap made like it until now.

Gosh, I'm happy. The only warnings I have are that this cap will be stiffer in fabric than you expect from a twill cap. That is nothing, but I'd advise you be mindful of the possibility of this cap shrinking. 100% of every component is cotton, excepting the buttons and Chinese cardboard trim-backing. Its shrinking is not a cheerful thought with limited size range and the fit already sailor-snug.

Still I can't find another hat to recommend as highly, for personal reasons as well as my stated reasons. Brixton Fiddlers are going the way of the dinosaur, I know not why, nor could I tell you what will come to take its place. Only this much I can say:

Get this twill plus a wool Brixton Fiddler before you get left out in the cold.

Website is perfectly navigable, and the hat I ordered was exactly what I was looking for, fit as expected and arrived a day or two sooner than expected. Only quibble is that alternate materials I was considering were sold out, but that has turned out not to be a problem. This is what internet shopping should be.

Lined, well constructed, good fit, looks good. And the shipping was fast.

I'm really pleased with it with one exception: The stitching along the seam from the peak to the front of the cap is a little goofed up. It's not falling apart or loose or anything like that. Just a little messed up. Not bad enough that I sent it back, anyway. It's just a minor flaw in an otherwise beautiful hat. I like the material, color, design and it seems to be very well made.

Loved the hat.....got the beige color...so I had to get the black one....light and durable....can wear anytime during the year!

This is a nicely made hat, at a good price. The size is exactly right.

Great hat, well made and true to size. Certainly a good value. Packaging could be improved as the hat arrived folded on one side with a crease that made it look funny when worn. I will try to dampen it with a water spray and dry it with a towel stuffed inside to remove the crease. So, 5 stars for the hat and 3 for the packing for a 4 star average.

Larger than the 7 3/4 I have been wearing for years. Tried to return it. Shipping costs are just about what the hat cost. Not my fault hat is oversized, but getting the right size has become my problem, according to Village Hat. Most other vendors have free shipping on returns such as this. Not Village Hat

I ordered the hat in size medium and the hat I received was labeled medium. However, it was a much larger fit. The quality of the hat was what I expected--very good. Every thing turned out well. My granddaughter who was visiting tried on the hat and loved the way it looked and now she wears it all the time back home in Texas. Even though there was a hiccup with my order I will continue shopping at the Village Hat Shop.

Bought 2xl and its about 7-3/4. I love this cap. It has a satin liner do its a bit warm in summer.

Nice cap, but did not meet my expectations. It needs elastic in the back for a tighter fit for wearing it in the summer while driving my 1928 roadster. It will blow off. The size was right, but I need a snugger fit. I purchased one for the fall (warmer) and it does fine. It does have an elastic strap in the back.

Nice hat, color and design. Ordered XXL to be sure it would fit and probably could have gone with just XL but it is wearable as is. Hat sizing for mail orders is turning out to be a real problem. Vendors do not standardize on a common scale.

I loved the hat, it was just what I was looking for. I followed the directions to determine my hat size, but it is too big. I am disappointed.

This is a delightful, well made hat that has a nice feel and more of a drivers cap look than a true newsboy. I was especially pleased with the fit of the small size I ordered. Five stars.

Great cap with an ""Attitude"". I wish Jaxon would do something about the sweatband material in their summer caps though. I can just see this thing at the end of one of our hot muggy days.

I have received many compliments over my cap and I appreciate them all but I do like the looks and double takes I receive, especially from the opposite sex, suggests this cap has a lot to offer over the age old ball cap. So if you are considering the purchase of this cap; do it and you will be glad you did. Newsboy caps have not been available locally for several years and I have never seen anyone wearing one. I am glad I found Village Hat Shop.

This is a wonderful cap. It is light and will breathe because it is cotton. It is lined w/satin. For the price of $14.95 no one should pass up this fabulous find. The folks at Village Hat Shop have great customer service. They are very friendly and helpful.

Bought this in black and loved it, so ordered it in beige as well. Much sturdier fabric than I was expecting, good fit, most attractive. Be advised that the beige is quite a different color from that shown on the website. A much more pleasing color, in my opinion. Not so white as the photo appears, and with just a touch of olive in it. Something between British tan and khaki, I'd say. I like it very much, but you might not if you're expecting the ""off white"" hue in the picture. In either color, a very nice cap indeed.

I love the Jaxon cotton 8/4 hats. Bought three and wear them all regularly. Fit perfect, look good and keep the weather out. Price is great too. Have paid up to three times the price for similar hats.

The hat that you sent me is a llittle too big. I don't like the style. It sucks! Rather than go through the trouble of sending it back, I gave it away.

I received this hat yesterday and I was amazed at how nice it is. For the price, I was expecting something much flimsier. It is lined and there is a piece of plastic in the hat that maintains its shape where it snaps down to the bill. Also, I normally wear a 7 3/8 and the large is a comfortable fit, if slightly big.

Top quality hat that I bought and it was better quality than I thought it would be. It had a lined inside and not only that I have a large size head it fit just right. GREAT HAT !
