Received my hat sooner than I expected. Opened the box and it was in great condition and fit is perfect.
Sadly I looked for the hatband but it was never shipped or it does not come with a band? I don't know.
The quality and fit is great. Hand made by Miguel... just perfect touch.

I was already very pleased with the 1st Plantation Guatemalan Palm Leaf Hat from Village Hat Shop which I had gotten for myself and ordered it again for a gift. It was exactly the same...a wonderful hat at a good price. Guatemalan Palm Leaf is inexpensive but still the best straw for hats because it is easily and perfectly shapeable and re-shapeable by the ordinary owner to his own taste. This one is very high quality. Great service too, as always, from Village Hat Shop.

I liked then look of my hat, but did not like the way it looked on me. It cost me $10 shipping to get the hat, and then $18 shipping to return it. So I paid $28. to try on a hat. Ought to be free shipping at least one way.

Love the hat. It is high quality and fits as hoped. Good price for such high quality. I'm right between a 7 1/8 and 7 1/4 American sizing, so ordered the corresponding size for 7 1/8 and it fits well. Highly recommend your hats.

Caesar Romero Lives Again Update

In my earlier review I mentioned that I ordered this hat one size larger than my usual size per the SunBody sizing instructions and that when the hat arrived it was way loose and required packing the sweat band inside for a proper fit. After two weeks wear in the tropics the hat band has indeed shrunk to my true size. Bottom Line: follow the SunBody sizing guide when ordering this hat. BTW have received many complements on this hat, including strangers from passing busses in Honolulu.

Caesar Romero Lives Again

I can't top Big Daddy's superlatives on this hat. You will look like the patron of a Columbian coffee plantation. The hat has a wide range of wear options, mostly casual. However, it would work with a white suit & tie. It's perfect for sun protection any place in the tropics. It'll make a great summer hat. The ad copy for this hat advised going with a size larger due to sweat band shrinkage. I did so and when placed on my head it fell down to my ears. Not good. However, the black external hat band had come off the hat in transit. Not a problem. I was going to replace it anyway. Took the hat band and wedged in between the sweat band and hat body. Problem solved. Fits perfectly. Looks great. My new favorite hat.

Big Daddy

This is a magnificent hat! Well made of quality materials, with true to size fit - nicely shaped with just the right amount of stiffness. With a white linen summer suit, you become Burl Ives as ""Big Daddy"" in ""Cat on a Hot Tin Roof"" or Orson Welles as ""Will Varner"" in ""The Long Hot Summer"" - add a string tie and you're Mark Twain, a Kentucky colonel or a Mississippi river boat gambler. Wear it with a guayabera shirt, linen slacks and a fine cigar and you're the suave Cesar Romero-esque owner of a Colombian coffee plantation. This hat simply says to all who behold it ""I am cool, calm and master of all that I survey!""
