Some panama hats are too flimsy. Get them wet and the flop down like a wet dog. This had material has enough backbone to maintain a basic shape, even with a little rain. But it is still very light weight. Definitely an island feel hat. I add air vents and a horsehair band to give it a little western flair. I go through about 3 hats per year. Wear them every day. Great hats.
