Great gift for Dad!

The hat appears well made and was true to size. I got this as a gift, and was a little concerned it might be costume-y, but it is so well made it looks like an elegant statement hat instead of a costume.

This is a costume hat, not a real deerstalker

While this hat is nicely made, it is not at all what I was looking for. The tweed is very thin and the hat is uninsulated. The ear flaps are just there for appearance. They do nothing to keep your ears warm. The whole hat has the consistency of a baseball cap with two visors. You could wear it all summer and be perfectly comfortable. If you just want to play Sherlock Holmes there are vastly cheaper alternatives than this one.

Bought this for a Sherlock Holmes costume, and though it fit a bit larger than expected, it was perfect. It's not a costume hat - it's a real deerstalker hat with a real bow on top, with the ribbons attached to functional ear flaps. I need to find another excuse to wear it beyond Halloween.

Overall, my teenager really likes her deer stalker hat. The brims are sturdy and it is made of a very nice material. The only possible negative comment is that the hat has more a circular/round shape than an oval "head shape" which creates a different feel when wearing it. However, that won't stop her from wearing and enjoying her hat!
