The materials and traditions in hat making can be divided into three segments: felt, straw, and cut-and-sewn fabrics. From raw material to finished hat, each fabrication process is extremely labor intensive. Leather hats are cut-and-sewn but because leather, for use as practical and attractive apparel, has had a long and venerable history side-by-side the history of our species, we felt that it deserved a page of its own. As most people know, the quality of the leather piece goods begins the determination of value in leather apparel. From there, we move to workmanship. Of course, this is no different with headwear. On this page you’ll find hats made in various factories on four different continents (USA, Europe, Australia, and Asia). If you like leather, we hope you’ll find your hat.
