hat is a little small than others i have got from here, but i think in time my head might fit into it ,looks good and like ,

My wife bought me this great hat for me for Christmas. I've long wanted a hat like this, but didn't buy it for fear of making too much of a "statement".

However, she bought it for me and I love wearing it. It's new and a little stiff, but it will loosen up a little. It's not a hat for a very windy day--we have a few of these in January in Manhattan! Nevertheless, I wear it around town. It's waterproof, so I wear it in the rain and stay dry.

It is a very attractive hat. The olive color is exactly as appears on my display. My head circumference is 22" and size M fits perfectly. The hat is much stiffer than I expected, and I hope it will hold up well for a few years. I am going to treat it with Nubuck protector to withstand the fall-to-spring season(s). Now considering to buy another one in chestnut color.

The hat is fine and fair for the price. I was greatly disappointed by the color though. It is nowhere near the chestnut color shown on the website. The hat is a dull brown instead. This is my second purchase of this hat as I have practically worn my first one out. I've worn this hat all over this country as well as on two trips to Scotland and have received lots of ""Great Hat"" comments on both sides of the Atlantic. It's rugged, fits well, and is good-looking -- what more could anyone ask!

The leather Jaxson Nubuck suede 'Safari' is so smart, a high style kaki pig skin fedora that is trimmed in dark brown. matches both my suede jackets. When the passing bus boy in hotel bar says ""like your hat"", you know to have a winner. Perfectly blocked brim needs no adjustment. I did spray it with suede rain guard. I want this one to last forever.

This hat fit perfectly out of the box. Beautiful shape and styling, excellent online service. I bought a similar hat from Wilson Leather 5 years ago for twice the price in Denver and this hat is easily equal in quality. It is true that the leather/satin combo will make you sweat in warm weather, but that is what straw hats are for. This is an awesome cool weather hat.

Great Hat! Looks, fits and feels good; and for a good price with quick delivery.

My wife got it for me for Christmas. Love the look, fit, and feel But as soon as I got a little hot in it and started sweating it bled through to the outside and discolored it a dark brown. Given I live in Desert SW and we just started having warm days, and I'm bald and need sun protection, so this was my hat. Maybe if I had Scotch Guarded it? Not sure.

Quality is fine, but the hat is very stiff which makes the fit tricky unless your skull shape is exactly the same as the hat shape. In any case I am going to keep it to see if I get it to loosen up a bit. I think it is a good value for price.

I really like this hat, very nice quality, and the leather is extremely thin and light, which is just what I wanted - the sizing is a bit off, I have ALWAYS worn an XL, but this XL almost fell to my shoulders - I had to spend another $11 for Shipping, to return it for a 'Large', (which is still a bit loose, but I'm keeping it) ... Village Hat Shop was extremely easy to work with, I will buy from them again, but probably from their Sacramento store, so I can try it on, first ...

My whole experience with VillageHatShop.com was great. there was a mix up with my debit card info that was resolved simply. My hat arrived exactly when I was told it would, wonderfully packaged with return label conveniently included. (NOT that it was needed). I had a hat almost identical to this one a while ago that got pitched (I suspect) because it had my fishing license attached to it. I had been looking for a replacement for a while but only found a few candidates. but they were either too heavy or way overpriced. This hat is perfect. The first thing I did was apply a nice coat of mink oil and let it dry on the heat vent. Then I beat the crap out of it and dirtied it up a little bit so it didn't look so new. I'm going to concur with Truedog's review, but because of it can't give this hat 5 stars, the first time the VHS got anything other than 5 from me. I wear an extra large and this XL is tight on me. Since there is no larger size and the price was quite right (also took advantage of a 20% off sale for Jaxon hats), I will upgrade my 3 to a 4 and hope that there is a little stretching effect because the hat itself looks great on me. if this eventually happens I will come back and add a 5 rating.

I just received this hat yesterday and I think I will really like it. Quality is good and it looks good on me. The sizing runs a tad on the small side though. I got an extra large which is always my size, (including another Jaxon hat) and it is a little on the tight side. Being leather though, I know this hat will stretch out a little bit and then it will be perfect for me.

Perfect? Well -- that's personal taste, and perfect for me would be a 2"" brim (surprising what a difference 1/4"" can make) and a nice greyish tan color. BUT since I can't find that hat, this one is a great substitute. It is, as one expects from Jaxon, very well constructed. I expect to get years of use from it. I should mention that the actual color is a bit darker and redder than the photo provided.For a leather hat of this quality the price just cannot be beat. An excellent buy.
