Unfortunately I did not get this hat returned during the return window. It's a very uncomfortable hat being made of compressed felt. It is hard and unforgiving. This brand makes a similarly constructed bowler/derby (hard and uncomfortable) that I did manage to return in time. Not recommended.

Well made and attractive, but I returned two of them due to fit problems. The first was smaller than advertised and the top dent in the second was so deep it hit the top of my head.

Village Hat were good people to deal with- sending me three e mail updates about the status of my shipment. Plus side:Fast and FREE shipping good communication. only negitive I could come up with was the hat sizing S< MED< LG XL where I prefer actual hat sizes.

Great hat, tough fit

I received my new Homburg a couple of days ago. The hat itself looks amazing. Very high quality and perfectly formed to the style. I am having some small trouble sizing it right because the centre dent is (was) too deep. I have done a little bashing (i.e. hat forming) to make it more shallow so the hat can ride low enough that it looks right. I am not a feather guy so I was happy to note that the feather that comes with the hat is easily removed without tearing anything or otherwise affecting the look. very happy with village hat shop :)

It fits and looks great! Unfortunately, even though it is 100% wool felt and silk lined, the feel is a bit like a press molded hat from a Halloween store, rather than a quality gentleman's hat. It is still new, and I have only worn it once. It may soften to the hand over time. To be fair, the hat is only $52. and I definitely feel I got what I paid for. I may have to save up for a proper FUR felt Homburg... perhaps a Stetson!

I had ordered a large, but it was too big. So I went ahead and ordered a medium to compare them. Village Hat also enclosed a hat sizer. The med was too small, but the sizer in the lg made it fit perfectly. I just returned the med with their easy return process. My wife was thinking of keeping the med for herself, but really isn't a hat wearer. The hat is a beautiful, well made hat. Customer service was excellent. Will definitely buy from Village again.

The Wool Homburg hat is very good quality and looks great. My wife tried it on and it looked so good that I bought one for her, too! The top of the hat did not fit very well, because of the shape of my head (other reviews mentioned this, too). But the customer service rep suggested that I use a hand steamer to reshape the top (the top of the hat, not the head) and it looks and fits very well. The customer service was very helpful - I highly recommend this hat and this company.

A fine Homburg for a fine price

I wasn't sure whether to expect this to be more of a costume hat versus a dress Homburg, and I was happily surprised by the shape, detailing, and quality. The wool hat is nicely stiffened so it's not a floppy copy. The black wool has a subtle finish so looks like a quality hat. If you want a hat that you can wear with a wool dress coat when the weather gets cool, I believe you'll be happy with this one.

Not a great fit

I own a number of Jaxon hats now including 2 fedoras and like them both very much. One fedora is slightly larger than the other even though they are both size Medium but both fit well. Purchased the Wool Homburg with satin lining on sale when I saw it hoping I would like it as much as my other Jaxon hats. It's a good looking hat but the "center dent crown" is too deep and the hat does not fit properly. Tried to decrease the depth but can't really do it without distorting the shape of the hat.
