Stetson quality

Stetson quality as expected. Ordered a size down per some reviews, shouldn’t have. 7 3/8 is my hat size and medium was too tight. However, few days on a stretcher and it fits just fine. Love the comfort band. Great straw hat for all occasions.

This is a fine summer hat, plenty of coverage with the wide brim. Mine arrived crushed. Not surprising, since there's very little to protect against it (packing paper in the crown might help). I mostly straightened things out with some steam, but it's still a bit beat up for a new hat.

I bought this hat based on the specs and excellent reviews. It did not disappoint. I live in South Florida where the sun, temperature and humidity are very intense. The airflow design works to perfection. Add to that grade 3 Panama straw and excellent workmanship, you have exceptional value of the price. Note: Pay attention to their sizing notes (I did!). You need to go down one size.

Texas summers are hot, and this is the perfect hat to combat the sun. It is also the best option for people with really big heads. I wear the XXL. I now have two of these: one worn to bits for severe use and the new one for use in public. I also want to praise Village Hat Shop for their shipping box. My hat arrived safe even though the shippers had ripped the box open. The inner protection did it's job to gently cradle the hat away from the walls of the box. Superior shipping!

Runs true to size - NOT large!

I took the advice of this website- it says that this hat runs large, and advises to order a size down. I normally would have ordered size M, so took the advice and ordered the S. Big mistake! The S is too small. Not happy! Excellent ventilation though.

It's a mystery to me, why Stetson is the only hat maker to bring us just what we need. This hat is comfortable, it breathes, it stays on, it's stylish, and the interior sweat band actually works. I work outside in north Texas, and the sun will kill you if you don't have a good hat.

My hat size is 7 5/8. I buy the XL, and it fits perfectly.

So much better at keeping me cool in the 110+ degree temperatures than my last hat. The airflow through the crown is great. As indicated, the hat does run a little large, so when I ordered my usual size (XL), it fits loosely which is perfect in the heat. I must say it doesn't feel like "Genuine Panama Straw," but maybe the straw is coated. I love this hat.

Just got this in today. It is a great hat. I just wanted to add that I got a large and my hat size is a 7 1/4. The hat is just a little big but still wearable until I get the hat sizers I just ordered. I would recommend that if you have a 7 1/4 head get the large and hat sizers! The packaging was in perfect condition and it came a day earlier than predicted. I will definitely buy from The Village Hat Shop again.

Followed NOTE to my dismay

I have been wanting a Panama hat for some time. Ordered this hat and read the note that the hats run large in size. So I followed the note and ordered the large size to my dismay. The large size was too small. I put it back in the box and found out it would cost $30.00 to return it. That just doesn't work for me. Now the hat in the box sits on a shelf. Should have ordered the extra large.
Everything else about the hat and delivery time was great.

This is one great hat. FYI, my head measures 24" which according to the sizing chart is a XL bordering a 2X. Called customer service and they confirmed the hat runs large. I followed the sizing directions to the "T" and a large fits fine. For reference, I wear a 7.5 in New Era fitted ball caps. Exactly what I was looking for for working outdoors doing lanscaping and for outdoor pistol matches in the hot summer sun. I ditched the cord becasue it just got in the way. The ventilated crown is cool and lets the breeze in. Seems a little delicate but I tend to be very careful with my stuff.

I have been looking for a hat to ware while out in the Florida sun, I have skin issues and this hat has really been great. It has a tall, but not to tall crown with a real wide brim. It also has a SPF rating of 50, that is great. Of all the hats I have looked at, this one fits the bill. YES, they do run large, my size is 7 3/8" but I got the medium and it fits perfectly. This beats the Shark hat by a mile and all others I looked at.

Needed a ventilated summer hat that had enough class that people would not smirk at me. Many summer hats are not ventilated and or they have a sombrero brim. This one was as close as I could get. The lanyard was a little much for a man, so I just removed it. It is a grade 3 panama so it is a very nice hat.

A very nice well ventilated Stetson straw hat for the summer. Fits well, nice sweatband, an attractive hat band and an underchin leather thong to keep it on in the wind, on the boat or while riding your horse or ATV. Only drawback is ventilation holes are large enough to let mosquitoes in.
