Summer C-Crown Toyo Straw Fedora Hat

This is a very nice Fedora Style hat with a hint of Western, which is what I wanted.. goes great with shorts and a nice shirt or jeans and boots. The Hat itself is a little bit heavier than I thought it would be for a straw hat, but I like it!

Both sides of the hat were lumpy right out of the box.

I like the way the hat looks. I bought it for overseas travel, but I have not yet tested its resiliance after being packed in a suitcase. Only problem is, I ordered my usual (large) but it is too big. Fits too loosely. I can compensate by padding the innerband, so better than being too small I suppose.

The hat is beautiful. It was a great price and it arrived quickly and in great shape. My husband wears it everywhere, even when he’s just sitting on the porch.

I recently spent a few days on the NC Coast. I took this hat with me and I am glad I did. It feels and fits great. I would describe the hand of this hat as "Not Quite Floppy." It is certainly far from stiff, but it will take and hold shape. The brim width is wide enough to provide sun screening but not appear affected.

As always, VHS provides great quality and service at a fair price. I wish it came in other colours like grey or black.

Now that it is summer time I like to wear straw hats, but this is my go to now.

I bought this white summer Fedora as an inexpensive way to keep my head cooler this summer. This hat is just what I was looking for. It was just a tad large, but I fixed that with some felt and now it is perfect. Looks good and cool.

Love the hat, very nice quality and exactly what I had in mind. But of more importance is the service provided by the VHS. This is my THIRD (!) C-Crown Toyo Straw Fedora. I wear them all summer and while traveling in the south in the winter. I am pretty hard on them. With sweat and getting squashed under various things, they last for about 2 years before they are borderline acceptable for civilized company. They look great for a least a year and a half. I couldn't ask for more. The "natural" style is less floppy than the white version.

I like the hat - style and fit are great. But it's billed as a crushable (therefore travel) hat and I've only been on two trips since I got it. I have to say, after the last one in my carry on, it didn't pop back quite as well as it did the first time. So, I'm reserving some judgement until it makes a few more rounds in the suitcase.

We take XXl for head 61 cm so it feels free, it fits perfectly and it's not tight.

I have a 7 5/8 head. A year ago I bought this Toyo Straw Fedora. It fits perfectly and I'm getting ready to wear it a 2nd Spring & Summer. This thing is is stained for last year, but that's my fault for not keeping it clean better. It'll be perfect for yard work and BBQs. Gonna get a new one for work. GREAT hat.

I've struggled with a fat head my whole life and never ever had a hat that wasn't stretch or adjustable fit me. I bought this one for an upcoming trip to Cali and love it!

This hat is well made, and looks great. It runs half a size larger as with all the c crown hats I’ve purchased, which gives room for a nice sweat band. At this price, the hat is a no brainer

For the money you can't go wrong with this hat.
It is softer and a bit more casual than many straw fedora/ panama hats. Perfect for a button down shirt and slacks. It has a lower crown than what I like, but it's still a keeper.

First of all, this hat runs large, or it did three years ago.
At first, I was taken aback by the floppiness. I quickly warmed to it. It feels pretty neat whipping down the road with the top down and the front of the brim popping up.
It is a regular, knockabout hat that's gotten plenty of use. It has stood up beautifully after THREE years of service.
One word of advice, find yourself a fun hatband to put on it and you'll enjoy it even more.

I just got this and popped it on. I wear a 7 5/8 hat and the XL I got fits great. The same exact style is on the hat rack at Wally World for a third of the price though. Wally World doesn't carry any XL hats, so this is the best choice. Great price, great fit so I'm pretty happy with my purchase. The nameless type of feather is pretty rinky dink. I'll be choosing something different. This looks like a crushable hat and looks like it can take a beating. It is made well.

Love the hat, light & holds its shape even though the write up says it's floppy. I wear & ordered a medium: the sizing seems to run true to form maybe a little bit larger but not by much.

This was my 4th hat from you and, so far, the best. I have a Ford crushable and a Tula Explorer and I wanted something a little " fancier " in my collection. The hat fits like it was custom made and the brim just dips enough to shade my eyes from the sun which is important in a convertible. I've already gotten quite a few comments on it. Luckily this 2xl hat fits me. Jaxon hats are the only ones that fit my gargantuan cranium. It's even just a little loose, which I like a lot. No squishing my brains.
Besides that, the hat is top quality. I have already had a couple of compliments from "I like the hat" to "Damn, you look good!" to "I've been eyeballing that thing all day". LOL

This hat is just what I hoped it would be. I measured my head with a cloth tape measure and the hat fits my head and sits on my head perfectly. I can't wait to go to a good blues band while wearing this hat.

I will be the first to admit, I have a funny shaped head...not like the elephant man funny, but more like Shrek funny. Most hats makes me look like the loneliest supervillain ever. This hat was no exception, but the crown could easily be reconfigured to make the hat look great on my large balding head. This is a relatively inexpensive hat to look this good. The brim is flexible so it can take a little abuse without going all wonky. Great look and inexpensive, what more can you ask for?

I wear a Jaxon Felt C-Crown Fedora as my daily hat, so going on vacation to the Caribbean with it seemed like a bad idea. I was hoping to get a similar fedora in straw, and the Summer C-Crown Toyo is exactly that: fresh and lightweight, and at the same time it doesn't feel like I'm wearing something else. Highly recommended.

Ordered this hat for my 61 year old nephew and he loves it. He said it was very comfortable and fit great (he has a large head and we ordered XXL.) The price is good because in hot Arizona summers he goes through hats (sweat, dust, tossed around)..and this is a good price. He can ruin a $200 hat as easily as a $32 hat...so this works out great. I ordered this last Thursday just before noon, it was shipped out in several hours and I received it on Saturday morning by USPS. The hat ran slightly large, but a foam filler strip was included to tighten up the band. It worked great and I am well satisfied. Will buy from again.

This hat is described as "floppy" but don't let that dissuade you. What they mean is that this is not a STIFF straw hat - big difference. This hat is crushable (or, at least, as far as I'm able to tell and I've squashed it quite a bit). The brim is flexible. You don't have to worry about this being a delicate hat. It fits true to size but isn't too tight (based on my head size at least). So, yes, it is "floppy" but it DOES retain it's shape and it looks good! It's light weight and not too hot. It's definitely a summer hat and it is definitely a hat you can wear to the beach or on a hike and will take a beating yet still look good.

I was a little unsure about this hat from the picture -- the band seemed a bit overwhelming, in particular, and it was hard to envisage the width of the brim -- but I loved it as soon as I put it on. The brim is wired, so while it is, as the description notes, "more floppy than crisp" it definitely still maintains its structure.

No question, it is a "floppy"; but with reasonable care, it almost looks 'blocked'. However, because of it's 'softness', it will comfortably mold to any head shape. I can wear it with a seersucker suit and tie or a baggy Hawaiian shirt and beach pants.

This hat was a gift for my husband. He loved it. I thought it was both casual and classy.

I wear a size XL in a Bailey hat, but it seems that Jaxson hats run larger, so I ordered this hat in size L. It fits perfectly. It isn't a stiff hat, but is supposedly crushable and does hold its shape very well. Great looking fedora.

I'm going on a beach vacation soon and prior to now, I was using a sad little visor (the kind with the velco tab that rolls up that you wrap around your head) that didn't even fit (ie the tab was out to the max and the velcro was exposed!). I wanted a REAL beach hat but I just couldn't find one in my size in mainstream stores. I am a woman and between hair and my head circumference of 24.5" I need a really big hat. I took a chance and ordered this (knowing it was a men's hat) and it fit!!! I felt so cool in my fedora. I was worried the brim wouldn't be wide enough and would look masculine but it really works. One caveat, Since I wasn't sure, I went with the biggest size and although it fit, I thought it might stretch out a bit so I went back and ordered the XL. When it arrives, I will compare and keep the best fitting one.

I appreciated the description/warnings. The hat looks good and feels comfortable, but is a bit loose (wear 7 1/8 and ordered the M) and floppy. I'll keep it for working outdoors, but not as crisp for dressier occasions. I'm going to try hat sizers to see if they make it fit more securely on my head. Photos on site are an accurate depiction.

Hat was much bigger than I expected insofar as the brim. I don't really like the size of the brim of the hat. Good material, but too big to be stylish.

Quality, shipped very well, lots of compliments. Ordered one size up as advised and found it sat a bit low. I tucked the foam band that was part of shipping material in the inside sweat band and it was perfect and even more comfortable.

One of the nicest straw hats I've owned. This item is made of straw that is so supple that you could practically roll it into a ball - not that this is recommended. What I especially appreciate about the Jaxon Summer C-Crown is the hatband, 1-1/2 inches wide. Most straw hats have a much narrower band, that on me at least produces a sort of Amish look. I'm sure they're fine people but that's not an effect I desire.

Hard to beat the quality/value ratio. Definitely worth more than the selling price. A bit heavier than a straw hat, but has a flexible, slightly floppy, summery feel. The brim size is near perfect - looks good, and provides sun protection. That being said, it does have a bit of an "casual" look. Probably will not look good with a linen suit or some such.

This is a beautiful summer hat that is a little dressier than a gambler-style golf hat, but relaxed enough to wear at the beach or pool without looking totally overdressed. The comment about the size running a little large is correct. I measure a 7 3/4 and normally would wear a 2X, but the extra large fit to a T. Would recommend this hat for anyone.

Not quite as refined as similar much more expensive hats, but it's also free from their ""duded up"" appearance. The brim is ample but not so large as to make you look like a sugar-plantation baron wannabe. An excellent everyday summer hat suitable for all but seriously dressy occasions.

Have had the hat for two years and really like it. I wear a hat on a daily basis. This one draws out more positive comments than my other hats. It's not so much floppy as it is very flexible. It's does flap but that's a function of brim size and material. More durable than most straw hats. Only complaint is that it can be hard to clean. Haven't had much luck trying to clean the brim edge. Straw cleaner doesn't work on this one. Great price even when it's not on sale. Would definitely purchase again.

This fedora hat is so soft and comfortable! It will be easy to pack because it maintains its' original shape well. With the wider brim it is attractive on and shields the sun. Love it!

the first hat I got was not what I wanted after I got it the brim was to wide for what I wanted it for. I sent it back and the second one was what I wanted. the price was good and the quality was good for the money. I would use them in the future . This hat was delivered on time, and well protected in the packaging used. A very Latin, panama look to it. Very soft and a tad ""floppy"" texture (not objectionable, just different). The crown itself had a dent set in it (toward the front) which I was able to relieve by letting it sit on top of another similarly-shaped fedora that I own. Beyond the above, it gives a sharp look and I like it.

I ordered this for my husband for a nice summer hat and it came in yesterday. He LOVED it! It looks great on him! My daughter had gotten him the black crushable fedora just like it at Christmas (which he also adored!) so I was hoping this would be a hit also and it was!

This hat is exactly what I wanted for a summer fedora. It is comfortable, light, cool, and great looking. Since I wear the Jaxon C-Crown Fedora in the cooler months, this is the perfect warm weather version. This hat will stretch because the weave is very flexible. As another review states, it is not stiff, but it does hold its shape nicely. The quality is excellent and the price is too!

Had to send this one back. The crown was so limp that it wouldn't hold its shape.

Jaxon Summer C-Crown Toyo Straw Fedora is well made, nice looking and fits well. My wife said ""You look great in that hat"", we've been together 42 years and she was very pleased with the look of her old man.

I purchased this hat last summer and enjoyed it. It holds up well and has a very classy look with the black hat-band and feather. I wear my Panama doing yard work and the Jaxon out on the town.It's comfortable, keeps the sun off my head, has a great sweat band and the price is a bargain.

I've been looking for a great summer hat over here in Australia for quite some time, and the issue is either the hat costs $200+ or it's terrible quality. That, and I have a very large head.I therefore decided to take a punt (wager) on this as it is relatively affordable and, to the eye, was exactly what I was after. In the end, I'm so glad I did!Firstly, the shipping/packing is exceptional. The hat arrived in A1 condition all the way from the U.S. to Australia. Secondly, the hat... Words cannot describe how happy I am with the hat. Not only is the fit perfect, something which I never experienced with hats, but the quality of construction on a $30 hat is unbeleivable.Cannot thank Village Hat Shop enough for providing this. Bought this from VHS back this past spring. It is my go to hat in the warmer months. It fits great and looks awesome.

Got got mine, too. Wonderful quality, fit and finish. My head size is on the cusp between Large and Extra Large; I got XL and the fit is comfortably loose, but stable--hat doesn't sit on my ears. Large might be comfortably tight, but will stretch with sweat... Nice hatband and lining, straw weave is tight, even, has small color variaitions that keep it from looking like polyester. Virtually identical to article pictured above, except crown isn't quite as high in proportion to the brim as it appears--but it's not objectionable in any way. VHS service is excellent: I ordered on Monday, it's here Thursday AM, well packaged--the feather even had a little protective bag to keep it nice! Will do more business with this compnay. Great value, , product, service--buy with confidence!

Just received this soft summer hat. Very pleased with the hat and the service.

I just received this hat, couldn't be happier with it. I look forward to wearing it this summer at soccer games, and on vacation.

I have wear lot of hats and this one have not satisfied me completly. Sure it nice to look at and offer good sun protection, but this hat is not very solid. A hole have appeared on the crown only by trying the hat on my head. If you are looking for a straw hat that will last for a long time, this is not the hat for you.

This hat is reasonably priced, comfortable, practical and it looks sharp and stylish. The ivory color is light enough to be summery without being too bright and the dark band sets it off very nicely. The brim is wide enough to offer a good amount of shade while still maintaining the classic fedora look. I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a warm weather hat.

Received this hat yesterday. It is very comfortable and does a great job at blocking the sun. Got several compliments on how good it looks.

So I get to be the first to review this hat... I had been looking at this hat for awhile now. It was one of the first straw hats that appealed to me but what I really wanted was a hat just like this one only with a brown ribbon band. Scouring the internet became a fruitless effort. The right hat found but too small sizes, brown band found but wrong color hat or nice color hat and band but way too expensive or they were the short brimmed trilby. I finally went with this one and I'm glad I did. The hat is a great price compared to others. The toyo straw has a thick feeling to it but is still light. The fedora is not a stiff straw but very flexible and could be knocked around and still retain its shape. This would be a good hat one could take on a long trip or air travel and not have a good fur felt fedora along to worry about getting banged up. The hat is better looking in person even with a black band which looks good despite my wanting brown. I wore it on a hot day today and found it comfortable. I did sweat a little on the forehead but the cotton sweat band wicked it up. I wear a size 7 7/8 to 8 hat and the XXL fit prefect. For everyday sun wear this is a great hat and good looking as well.
