My husband used to have a couple of very similar hats that he was gifted before we went overseas. I have no idea what happened when we returned but I thought he needed them replaced this past Christmas. I will never shop for hats anywhere else!

I used to "collect" baseball caps but have changed to flat hats. As finances dictate I'll be buying more.

I love flat caps, but don't like the ones with buttons on the top. The problem is finding them in size small. I scored big on this purchase. Wool for warmth. Size small. And it's a great looking hat.

I bought this after searching high and low for a replacement for a black Stetson styled almost identically.

My hat size is 58cm, which in this hat should be size Large. It fits me a little tight. I don't know if XL would be too big, so I didn't send it back. Hoping it stretches out a little.

Wore it today for the first time and it is very nice. Love the color.

This hat runs a little large. Also the foam insert in front comes loose after a short time. Other than these two issues, I find this to be a very nice hat. It is very warm in winter and looks great.

It's a very nice hat and well worth the price. I have only one issue. I used the sizing chart on the web site and ordered an XL. It is marginally too large. The company said they would exchange it but I was responsible for shipping costs to return it from Canada. Shipping costs were more than it would cost to order a new hat.

Like several other reviewers - I lost my favorite Ascot - purchased in the UK years ago for three times the price of the Jaxon hat. Look no further for a quality Ascot from Village Hats. The hat arrived in excellent condition, enclosed in a plastic bag in a properly sized sturdy box. The color is a solid deep black that is very attractive and the styling is exceptional. I have a large head and have trouble finding hats big enough to fit me, but the fit is perfect. I would recommend this hat, and the Village Hat Shop, to anyone who's looking for quality at a reasonable price.

Bought larger size. Exchange for a smaller size was painless and delivery was quick and easy. Excellent service - keep it up. Just bought another hat.

Hard to gauge sizes. They all vary. I always buy XL so after verifying the hat sizing chart I did so again. Oops. Too big for me. Especially large when I undo the visor clip. Huge! Slips right down over my ears when clip visor undone. That's why I bought it because I love the style worn with visor clip undone. Oh well. I advise you buy smaller size than hat sizing indicates by one size and that should work better. Otherwise great hat with nice liner and strong stitching.

Initially I ordered this hat along with another one in the small size. The other one fit perfectly but I had to exchange this one for a medium. Is there any way to let the buyer know that the sizes run small or large if that be the case?

I bought this hat as a gift for my husband, who refused to wear a hat for warmth on his business travels to colder cities because no hat (other than a stocking cap) fit well or looked good on him. Last year at Christmas time I was on vacation and left my Ascot Hat in a taxi. Not only have I wanted to replace this hat that I originally bought in Paris, France, but also now that the winter season is almost upon us, my bald head needed something to keep it warm! I've been searching on the Internet for a replacement that looked the same as my lost hat and stumbled upon the Village Hat Shop website. I saw what looked like the same thing, but when I read the reviews and found out that this was a wool hat whose shape was firm and didn't pucker, then I knew that I had indeed ended my search. I measured my head with a cloth tape measure and used the chart to decide on a Medium size hat. Not only was this a great value that I received quickly, but also the fit and style was perfect! I'm a HAPPY CAMPER! Kudos to Village Hat Shop!

Doesn't get any better! For someone (like me) who's hard to please — and rarely takes time to write online reviews — this cap surpassed my expectations. Excellent quality, great price, and appropriately packed for its long trip to the east coast.
My measurement came in at 23½" but I didn't want it to be too loose; so I opted for a 'Large' (instead of the recommended 'XL') — and the fit was right on target.
Bought the black cap to wear while working outside as a funeral assistant, but have decided to order a second one (in 'taupe') for casual wear with a brown leather jacket.

Exactly what I was looking for. My head size, 23 1/2"" is at the bottom of the XL chart and the cap was loose enough I thought I would have to send it back, but you sent liners that solved the issue. Now it's all good! Great selection and excellent Customer Service.

I have ordered many hats from Village Hat Shop. My 2 ascots, however, are my favorite. I have this, the wool, and also the fur felt ascot. For those that may not know, the ascot hat is a rigid one. It keeps its shape. On the wool one, i wet the area of the band all the way around(avoiding getting the bill and hat top wet)with cold water. Then i put it on. Gently stretched it. Let it dry(about 2 hours)on my head. Now it is custom fit! This will work if you need it to shrink a bit on your head as well. This works on the WOOL ONLY. Please don't try it on any other material. This is my every day ""go-to"" hat. Buy one. Buy both. You will not regret it.

I bought this hat as a gift. It fit perfectly and looked perfect. It makes my man look very handsome. The only thing with the hat is that my man likes to take his hat off indoors and cannot fold the hat and put it in his pocket. However, he just holds the hat if he needs to.
