This French style pith helmet is the original design from Vietnam. A hundred years ago, the French discovered the advantages of the material used to make these hats. The pith is from trees in northern Vietnam and has properties that make it both a good sun and rain shield. These helmets are handmade in Vietnam using the techniques inherited by the former French occupiers.
Please Note: Pith helmets can be immersed in water, whereby the wearer stays cool during use on hot summer days. Please submerge the outside of the helmet carefully, without allowing water to spill into the interior of the helmet.

Sizes: S/M fits sizes 6 7/8 (S) to 7 1/4 (L); L/XL* fits sizes 7 1/4 (L) to 7 1/2 (XL); adjusts via a hook and loop ending to the interior sweatband.
*Size L/XL was previously sold as the "Big Head" version of this style prior to consolidation.
I'm not a large or medium it seems, large is far too big, medium is perfect on the sides of my head but it falls short front to back. I wish the strap was functional.
All this aside it's exactly what they say it is. Very good.

Perfect Pith Helmet
I purchased this to complete a 1920's archaeologist costume. Wanted something that looked authentic; and this was it! It is authentic. Plus it came in a bigger hat size, which is always hard to find. Highly recommend!

Fantastic Hat
This is an authentic hand-made pith helmet. The quality is fantastic. I will be travelling through Italy in July and this hat will be on my head the entire time. With this hat you stand out from the rest. There is no better hat for hot weather. I love it!
