Gave this as a gift for xmas. Turns out: if you're on the borderline between sizes, go up! After returning the hat and buying the L instead of the M, we're very satisfied. Very nice hat, comfortable fit. He loves it and I think it looks really good. You can see and feel the quality.

I am a size 8 and could NEVER find a hat to fit me off the shelf in retail stores. I was delighted to find just the fedora I wanted and decided to take a risk with the XXL rather than hope for a XXXL. I halfway expected it wouldn't fit, but was pleasantly surprised that it fit well. It doesn't sit quite as far down on my head as I'd like, but when I wear it, I forget it is on my head. I will be wearing this fedora as much as possible for a long time!

I always order hats in a XXL size and Jaxon hats are never big enough. If you order this brand it's better to order one size bigger.

Was in need of a crushable hat for travel. I wear other hats for good occasions however it is nice enough for everyday and often get compliments on it. Have good luck with Village Hat Shop and Jaxon hats.

We ordered two hats both small but this one was too small, the other fit Beautifully and like it should .. I'd recommend ordering one size bigger than you normally do.

This is an extremely comfortable, sharp-looking fedora. I've gotten many compliments while wearing it. The feather has fallen out a few times, and I've tried securing it with a bit of tape under the hat band. I'll see how that works.

Recently realizing my collection of 'crushers' lacked a wool stingy-brimmed fedora, I obviously first scanned the Village Hats site and decided on the brown Jaxon 'Blues Trilby', definitely a classic style, brim down or up -- with, or without feather. An excellent quality build for this price. Fits true and crushes and shapes back well. I can always count on great selection, quick service, fast delivery and very decent packaging from Village, as well.

This is the 3rd hat that I have purchased for my husband from your shop. I am certain he will receive many compliments. Story I want to share with you - we were at a Holiday Stroll in our town, Glendora, CA, when we were approached by an older gentleman who complimented my husband on his blue Fedora. The hat pictured has the brim in front as either straight or down turned which is what I had wanted. When I got the hat the front brim is was turned up. I had to reshape it myself with a steamer with not exactly perfect results. The hat runs large so take that into account when sizing. I'll have to put in a filler to make it truly comfortable.

I've been looking for a xxl brown trilby fedora for my large head, with little success. Stumbled across this hat and made the purchase. Arrived promptly and packaged very securely. The hat itself is very well made and fits perfectly. The snap brim isn't quite what I was expecting however it works. Glad the feathers and pin are both removable. Overall I think it's a very attractive hat for the price tag.

This really lives up to its "crushable" reputation, as it had to be sent first to a US address, then packed in a trunk to be brought overseas for my son's birthday. Even though it had been folded for a couple of weeks, it popped right back into perfect shape and is a great fit. My son loves it!

I purchased the Jaxon Blues Trilby for a wedding and rehearsal dinner. Great looks, travels very well, excellent fit (XL was perfect for my 7 3/4) and lots of compliments. Brim very adjustable depending on the look you prefer.

Expected better quality product for the price. Should have a lining. Also the logo button was different than what showed when ordered.

I ordered this hat because of all of the great reviews I read....and they were all correct!!! When it arrived I was blown away by the quality for the price that I paid. I own mostly Stetsons, but I wanted a hat that I could wear anywhere and not worry about ruining a more expensive hat. I was concerned about the sizing, but this Jaxon Blues Trilby fits perfectly...and I mean perfectly!!! I would definitely recommend this hat, and I am even considering ordering the Blues Trilby in brown.

Finding a wool / felt Fedora on Maui is impossible. Village Hat Shop made it possible for me to have what I needed in time for my event. I thought the shipping to Hawaii was too pricey though (an additional $20 on top of regular shipping). Honestly, I thought the rim of the hat was too narrow, and because it is "Crushable" the rim curls up a bit, verses being a wide-brimmed Fedora that is straight or tips downward. If I would have had the chance to see it in person, I probably would have chosen a different style.

Great hat for playing in my jazz/blues group. Price is 1/2 of what I could find locally.

I picked this up in grey (wanted platinum but out of stock in my size). I went large and it was a little bit big, but a hat sizer fixed that. I shave my head much of the time, so it will still fit if I grow it out a bit. Front brim will snap down and stay, as well as up. Several compliments on this one.

I am in my mid fifties and never found a hat that I felt really comfortable in until I broke down and bought this one. It looks and feels great! Having had long hair for most of my life, I was NOT a hat person so when I cut my hair short the 1st thing I wanted was a pork pie hat like Lester Young. Not wanting to spend a ton of bread on a 1st time hat, I chose the Blues Trilby in grey. Great hat! Very comfy on my big head, nice feel to it. The color isn't a dull grey or a light, flashy grey. I've ordered several hats recently and only had one issue. I ordered two hats by the wrong size, based on their hat sizing tool. Village Hat Shop promptly got me the correct size, with no problems. Their service is ""Top Flight"". All of my future hat purchases will be from The Village Hat Shop...The only glitch was, once when I called, I detected some frustration from the person I spoke with. Granted it was late Saturday evening, and I suppose he wanted to go home. For this, I can honestly only give 4 stars...Although I believe they deserve 5 stars.

I have a hard time finding a hat locally that fits. These fit great. No problem with the hats or service. Just wish you wouldn't use FEDEX. I apparently live on the outer edge of the route and they don't go out of their way to get here. These hats showed ""out for delivery"" for two days until I called to complain.

I have been looking hard for a winter hat that could take a little use without losing its shape. The crushable fedora that I bought has been a daily workhorse. I have worn it every day and it looks great. Lots of compliments on the vintage elegance. I see why men used to wear hats because the are great in cold weather. This is a great hat for the money.

First off, I loved the fedora. Great-looking hat, and my wife and daughter even liked the way it looked. However, this was the first Jaxon I've ever purchased (or even tried, as I can't find them in either of the local haberdasheries here in Austin, TX) and apparently they run small in size. I have a tiny head—it's next to impossible to find anything in a store here that will fit—so of course I always have to get a Small. This one, however, felt almost like it was designed for a child's head, it was so snug. I actually could not fit it onto my head without practically shoving it down, and even my wife admitted ""It doesn't sit as well as your others…"" (I have several fedoras, in addition to several ivy caps and a couple of newsboys.) This is the second hat I've ordered from VHS, and the second one I've had to send back because it was too small. (The first was a straw Stetson.) I will give VHS a thumbs-up, however, because there's never been a problem with returning an item. Instead of just ordering the next size up, however, I've decided to take my time and see what else is out there that might actually fit correctly. To date, that's been the only drawback from buying from Village Hat Shop: having to return items because they don't fit.

Wife and I went to the Sacramento store because I'm chicken to buy on internet. I thought I wanted the Jaxon Detroit fedora,but after trying it on, it just seemed a little too stiff and dressy for me. Found the ""Jaxon Blues crushable"" tried it on and WOW it just felt so comfortable and looked so good I had to say ""Yes To The Hat"" as a matter of fact, I bought Two, one grey and one blue. The blue is a dark blue very striking. Manager and help very knowledgeable. Already making plans for a return trip.

Nice hat. It looks good, fits nicely, and is lighter than I expected. I feel the need to note that the feather in mine isn't removable which strikes me as odd given that the manufacture actually had to spend MORE money glueing it in place (but what do I know about the hat business).If you like to scotch guard your felt hats for added protection, then you're definitely going to want to spot test this one under the sweat band first. I got the impression that the color seemed to fade a little. Still, for $32.00 it's a good deal. I'd recommend this one to a friend.

This was the hat I wanted. The manufacturer directed me to VHS. I ordered it. It came in a big, heavy box, that protected the hat but could have weighed less. I love the hat. If I ever need a really cool hat again. I'll do business here and you should have no doubt if you're shopping. They're legit. The virtual try on feature is fun and useful.

I love this hat. It's soft and comfortable, yet looks great. The stingy brim doesn't bump the headrest while I'm driving. And best of all, the size small fits my tiny head perfectly. The hat looks great the size was a bit tight compared to the same size of a different hat we purchased at the same time.we are in the process of using a simple hat stretcher and some steam to see if we can make it a perfect fit. overall pleased with service and product.

Ordered this hat in grey. Very soft and comfortable for a wool felt (ordinarily prefer the look and feel of fur felt, especially in the winter months). Per other reviews, this version of Jaxon grey shifts to a greenish hue under CFL and office fluorescent lighting, but is quite true to color under ordinary incandescent lighting and of course, outdoors in daylight. I have four Jaxon hats and am very happy with the quality and appearance of all of them.

I got this hat as a gift and I must say, I was very satisfied & impressed with the quality & look of this hat. I can wear it with the brim up for that Bluesman look, or brim down, for a more dressed up appearance. This hat can be worn for everyday use or a night out on the town. Looks great wearing casual clothes or a nice suit. I HIGHLY recommend the Jaxon Blues Crushable .

The quality of this hat is great. It was exactly what I was looking for and I have received many complements. I got the grey one and the color is a little greenish in indoor light but nothing that bothered me, and I am super picky. The brim has a bit of trouble staying down so I steamed mine and now its perfect. I got a medium and my head size is 7'1/4. Its snug. Great craftsmenship and shipping was good too.

The grey hat is quite a bit more green than I thought from the website photo, and a little larger than I would like, but all in all a nice hat.

I was leary of ordering a hat online without my husband being able to try it on, but the hat fit perfectly & it is just what he wanted. I will not be leary of ordering from your company again.

Very good value, overall. One thing I noticed right away about this hat is how comfortable it is. Seems to just stick to your head. No complaints here.

I ordered this hat back in the winter. I really like it. The Village Hat Shop did a great job packing it... you would think I was ordering a much more expensive hat! The sizing was very accurate. The quality exceeded my expectations. Please note, I ordered the grey one and it is darker and has a slight bluish tint to it... at least compared to the image on my computer monitor. I am very pleased with the hat and I might order a black one when winter comes around.

I Like the looks of it. It's different from my other hats as the brim is shorter. Barely bends over in the front. Haven't wore it out to eat yet but I will when the weather gets cooler. It's a bit more dressy compared to my other hats. It's going to be my dressed up hat. I'm wearing my straw hat now. I always wear hats. Ever since I inherited my grandfather's hat in 1974.

I bought this hat in black and grey. They are very comfortable and snappy looking. I have issues with the grey in that it's grey only outside. Inside light gives it a definate green tyrolean color. Other wise great hats.

I hate the thought of buying shoes and hats online. First time I bought a hat from VHS, I was nervous. This Jaxon Blues Crush is my 4th order and once again, perfect fit. And it's no slouch neither. Although my husband is an in-between size, the size that was decided upon (with staffs suggestion) was a perfect fit, and turned out to be lovely gifts for him. We both are so pleased with the hats that I will be shopping for more soon. I am so pleased to have found THE VILLAGE HAT SHOP. I love this hat! My kids love it on me. It was my military retirement present to myself. We love it so much my daughter and ""soon to be"" son in law are going to purchase hats for the groomsmen and others for their wedding in June. Nice hat, I wear it alot.

I am a big fan of the TV show ""Mad Men,"" and I love the way they dress in that show. I ordered this hat to complete my ""Mad Men"" look. I love this hat, it looks great, and the 2 inch brim is a perfect size. I ordered the gray one and I love the color, it is a bitter darker than the color sample which appears on this website. It it more of a ""Steel Gray."" I have received MANY compliments and smiles from women when I wear this hat, and so I know it is worth every penny! I look almost as good as Don Draper.

i have bought seven hats from vhs this year. 8/4 caps and fedoras. i just received a jaxon blues crushable and i,m a happy man. this is the perfect fedora. brim is a cool 2 inches, hat band is wide, and and the sweatband is cloth, i didn't want a leather. fits perfect, and it's crushable, meaning i can turn the brim up, down, or sideways! price is right too! you won't go wrong buying from the village hat shop, i know from experience!
